I was born and raised in Bridgewater, New Jersey, and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1989.  I worked for Bantam Doubleday Dell Publishing Company in New York City for two years before moving to Nice, France, where I lived until 1992.  After deciding to attend law school, I lived in Budapest, Hungary for six months, working as an English teacher.  In 1995, I graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law.  I am a former Loudoun County Assistant Public Defender where I represented criminal defendants in felony and misdemeanor litigation for four and half years.  I worked as an Assistant County Attorney for Prince William County for a year and a half, representing Prince William County DSS in child abuse and neglect cases.  In 2002, I entered the private practice of law, where I remain today, focusing my practice on criminal defense and domestic relations law. I am a former President of the Prince William County Bar Association and am a member of the George Mason American Inns of Court and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.  In 2008 and 2011 I was named Trial Attorney of the Year by the Prince William County General District Court.  In 2014 I was named one of the "Top 100 Trial Lawyers" by the National Trial Lawyers Association. I am avid hockey and lacrosse fan and play both sports for teams in local men's leagues.

David E. Lisa Manning is Counsel to Schertler & Onorato, LLP.  Her practice focuses on representation of individuals in civil and criminal litigation, investigations, and expungement.  Ms. Manning has counseled both U.S. and overseas clients in matters ranging from state-level criminal cases to global investigations.  Her experience includes cases involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, antitrust (cartel and price fixing issues), the Office of Foreign Assets Control, fraud, securities, government contracts, and local criminal defense.  In addition, she has represented clients in a variety of government inquiries, including regulatory, grand jury, and Congressional investigations.. After defending pharmaceutical companies for 13 years, I changed sides and started prosecuting cases against pharmaceutical manufacturers for a large plaintiffs' firm in Texas.  Now, I am back home with my own Cincinnati-based law firm representing individuals who have been hurt by pharmaceuticals.  I'm also working other cases where medical or pharmaceutical concepts are at issue, including auto accidents with serious injuries and cases involving children injured by children's products.. My pharmaceutical and children's toys practice is national.  I have clients in more than 40 states.  My practice involving auto accidents or other severe injuries is limited to Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia.  I hold a license to practice law in all four states.
