Jennifer  continued her service to victims of domestic violence in the summer of 2009 as a Rule 711 Student Attorney at the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic in Chicago.. At the Notre Dame Legal Aid Clinic, Jennifer  represented clients on both sides of guardianship proceedings, including family members wishing to become the guardian of an incapacitated loved one as well as disabled persons seeking to remove a guardian who didn’t fulfill the duties of the position.. Jennifer uses her passion for family law to zealously advocate for her clients and counsel them through an emotional and challenging time in their lives. Lindsay completed her undergraduate studies at Walsh University, earning her B.S. in Education as an Early Childhood Intervention Specialist in 2006. She then attained her Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Akron in 2010. Lindsay attended the University of Akron School of Law, part-time while raising a family and working full time, graduating in 2020.. During her time in law school, Lindsay gained valuable experience by taking part in a variety of clinics the University of Akron has to offer. In the Re-Entry Clinic, she provided legal assistance to low income clients looking to file applications to seal their criminal records, obtain Certificates of Qualification for Employment (CQE), and file clemency applications. She also worked on the Ohio Governor’s Expedited Pardon Project by screening potential pardon candidates and assisting qualified candidates with preparing a pardon petition to the governor. In the Civil Litigation Clinic, she assisted low income clients who experienced housing problems. She interviewed clients, investigated cases, and prepared and represented clients in court. In the Domestic Relations Clinic, Lindsay handled family law matters in the Portage County Domestic Relations Court by advising clients on matters of dissolution, divorce, custody, and child support. She prepared filings, appeared in court, and participated in hearings via telephonic conference and zoom.. Lindsay had the opportunity to clerk for the City of Akron Prosecutor’s Office. Jeff is a lifelong Grand Rapids resident. He attended Calvin College, where he majored in Political Science with an emphasis in Public Administration. Jeff went on to attend Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Prior to finishing law school, Jeff interned with the City of Grand Rapids Department of Law, clerked for the 17th Circuit Court Family Division, and worked as a research and writing clerk for a local law firm.. After law school, Jeff opened and ran his own successful law practice for over six years, focusing on civil litigation, family law, and criminal defense. Jeff has extensive experience in most Michigan courts, and has drafted briefs for the Michigan Court of Appeals, Michigan Supreme Court, and the United States Supreme Court.
