I was raised in Ashtabula County, Ohio.  After graduating from Jefferson Area High School in 1982, I joined the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Cherry Point, North Carolina.  I received an honorable discharged in 1987.  I worked as a secretary and paralegal until I went to law school in 1997.  In 2000 I went to work for Ward and Smith, P.A. in their New Bern office where I stayed for six years.  I then opened my own practice in 2006.  Since opening my practice, I have concentrated primarily on family law.  However, I also prepare estate planning documents and have recently started to incorporate elder law into my practice.

Emma Tillotson did not know she would find her calling in family law. Emma received her undergraduate degree from Clemson University cum laude in Psychology and Criminal Justice, with a minor in Sociology. She left her home state of South Carolina to attend the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University, where she graduated cum laude. During her legal studies she found her passion representing people going through difficult family transitions. She participated in the family law clinic representing underprivileged residents of Raleigh in their family law needs, was an active member of Law Students Against Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence, serving as Vice President, was a student mentor and was an active member of the award-winning Mock Trial team.. “Sexual assault and domestic violence are prevalent in our community, and it is imperative that individuals understand they are not alone and that there exists a path to safety and recovery. Kirsten Alderdice grew up in New England and Charlotte, NC, and relocated to the Triangle in 2014. She obtained her BS degree in English Education from Boston University and her M.Ed. from North Carolina State University. Kirsten then spent eight years teaching middle and high school English. During her public school teaching experiences advocating for children with different educational needs, she decided that law school would be her best path to help families navigate transitions and the court system. She joined Ellis Family Law while attending North Carolina Central University School of Law’s Evening Program in 2022. To family law, Kirsten brings graduate-level expertise in child and adolescent development, as well as years working with families and advocating for their needs. She brings these skills and others cultivated through her work with the firm to advocate for and counsel clients, to assist in procuring favorable outcomes.

Elisabeth Flemming is the managing attorney at Elisabeth S. Flemming, Chtd.. Elisabeth Flemming obtained a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Accounting & Taxation in 2007 from Grand Valley State University. She started her law career at William S. Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada, in 2008. During law school, Ms. Flemming worked with the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, was an extern for the Clark County Public Defender’s office, and interned with Zuffa, LLC d/b/a Ultimate Fighting Championship. She was also named the Western Region of the National Black Law Student Association’s Member of the year, named Outstanding Student Organization Leader at Boyd Law and was also awarded a Dean’s Award in 2011. She earned her Juris Doctorate in 2012 prior to joining the State Bar of Nevada in 2013.. Ms. Flemming has practiced exclusively in the family law representation her entire legal career. She specializes in divorce, legal separation, child custody, paternity, child support, temporary protection orders and family law related appeals.. Prior to starting her Elisabeth S. Flemming, Chtd., and she most recently was a senior associate at Jones & LoBello.  She also previously practiced with a National Domestic Litigation Law Firm, Cordell & Cordell, P.C, was a family law associate attorney at The Jimmerson Law Firm, P.C. handling complex domestic litigation matters.

I was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, attended Las Vegas Day School, Bishop Gorman High School and UNLV. I attended law school at Pepperdine School of Law and loved living in California.. I have practiced mostly family law for 30 years, but also practiced bankruptcy and probate law. I was a partner in a law firm for many years and am now associated with a firm that handles estate planning, trusts, probate and guardianships (limited basis).. I am 100% Armenian, am divorced, no children but have wonderful young cousins and a Neice and Nephew that I treat as my own children. I enjoy traveling, movies, theater, wine events and am a very good cook who has taken several classes at culinary schools and would love to own a restaurant one day.
