Attorney Jake A. Sambito was born and raised in Massachusetts and represents clients in family law matters such as divorces, custody, and other probate and family law issues. These matters are often emotional and complex, and Attorney Sambito has effectively resolved countless family law disputes throughout Massachusetts. He prides himself on successfully negotiating often complex financial and domestic issues, finding creative solutions for his clients. Attorney Sambito has trial and litigation experience throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in various trial courts.. In addition to probate and family law, Attorney Sambito has experience with landlord-tenant matters in Housing Court. Attorney Sambito also practices in the District and Superior Courts throughout Massachusetts, litigating various civil matters.. He earned his law degree from The Massachusetts School of Law and was part of the nationally acclaimed Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition, placing fourth in the country and earning him a Governor’s Citation. While attending law school, Attorney Sambito worked as a law clerk for a well-known law firm outside of Boston, specializing in wrongful death and medical malpractice claims against large corporate entities.

I represent clients in a wide variety of matrimonial matters in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.  This includes divorce (including asset division, support, custody, removal, and valuation issues), paternity, contempt, modification, and appellate work.  I have signficiant experience drafting prenuptial agreements and postnuptial agreements, as well as litigation of such agreements at the time of a divorce.  I am trained in mediation and represent clients in both mediation and collaborative law.

Carol A. Phinney has practiced family law in Massachusetts since 1989 and devotes her practice to matters of uncontested and contested divorce, child custody and relocation, support, alimony, paternity, abuse prevention orders and guardianships.. Carol has represented clients in high-conflict cases in courtrooms across Eastern MA. For over 25 years, Carol practiced in Middlesex, Essex, Worcester and Suffolk Counties before relocating to scenic Cape Cod in 2016. From 2002 to 2007, Carol represented the Mother in the case of Mason v. Coleman which set the current standard of review in removal cases when the parents share physical custody. Following the SJC decision in 2006 denying Mother's relocation, Carol continued to advocate for Mother who ultimately was permitted to move the children out of State. Family law cases require a unique commitment to the client due to the highly emotional issues, the length of time required and the evolving nature of family and parenting law.

Maria Rockwell focuses her practice on all aspects of probate and domestic relations cases as well as all aspects of civil appeals. She works with clients from the initial interview through settlement negotiations, trial, post-judgment motions, appeals and collection of judgments. Clients turn to Maria not only to protect their interests, from custody to proper distribution of estate post-separation, but also to guide them through challenging life changes.Several of Maria’s cases have resulted in published decisions in the Massachusetts Appeals Court and Supreme Judicial Court. The Probate and Family Court has appointed Maria to represent incompetent litigants and serve as guardian ad litem to investigate and report to the Court involving matters relating to wills, trusts, probate accounts and child related issues in custody disputes.Maria currently serves on the Committee for Public Counsel Services’ Children and the Law Program appellate panel. She has participated in numerous continuing legal education programs and also served on a panelist on seminars relating to paternity, guardianships and trusts.
