Erik, a German native, studied at the University of Wyoming College of Law. Always eager to obtain hands-on experience, Erik joined the Legal Services Clinic under the supervision of John M. Burman. Additionally, he externed for the Rocky Mountain Innocence Center based out of the University of Utah for two years. While attending both programs, Erik developed a passion for criminal and family law matters. Upon graduating as the Clinic's Outstanding Student of the Year, Erik had the unique opportunity to work as an Assistant Public Defender in Casper, Wyoming. While in Casper, Erik began trying various misdemeanor and high-profile felony cases in the circuit and district courts.
