I began defending individuals charged with crimes in November of 1993.  I have always enjoyed the challenge of representing people in very difficult circumstances.  I find the experience of seeking justice rewarding.

Max graduated from the University of Akron School of Law, with honors, and received his Bachelor of Arts degrees in History and Political Science from Ashland University where he was a 3-time academic All-American in both soccer and track.. Max now competes in the courtroom where he represents those charged with misdemeanors and felonies in both state and federal court in Ohio and West Virginia.

I stay involved and in touch with the state of the law in Ohio in my practice areas through the Continuing Legal Education seminars and the networking opportunities available through the Ohio Bar Association. I attend many Continuing Legal Education seminars annually to expand my professional knowledge and network of knowledgeable practitioners; I am recognized as a member of the Ohio Bar College for attending more than 24 hours of CLE in a single year, which is double what the Ohio Supreme Court requires of registered attorneys (the Court requires 24 hours every TWO years)!. My other professional memberships include the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, which puts me in touch with criminal defense practitioners in my area and around the state who are deep in the trenches every day alongside me. My membership in the Ohio Women's Bar Association and the American Bar Association also enrich my professional network and knowledge of relevant case law.

J. Carlyle "Carl" Hearn, II, handles matters and serves clients with legal needs in Davie, Forsyth, Yadkin, Wilkes, Ashe, Stokes and Surry Counties located in the western piedmont and foothills. Prior to joining the iTicket team, Carl worked with firms in Chicago, Illinois, Charlotte, North Carolina and Winston-Salem, North Carolina before beginning his own practice in 2011. Carl has represented clients in numerous counties throughout North Carolina in both civil and criminal matters. Carl enjoys the outdoors, music and is an avid sports fan who spends much of his time coaching youth in numerous sports.

Mr. Kiernan served as an Assistant District Attorney (Prosecutor) for the State of North Carolina for the Fourth Prosecutorial District from 2007 through 2012.  Though he began practicing in District Court in Onslow County, and also handled Juvenile Court matters in Sampson County, the bulk of his time was spent handling matters in Superior Court in Sampson and Duplin Counties.  While serving as a Prosecutor, Mr. Kiernan gained invaluable experience in working with matters from simple traffic tickets to murder cases, and everything in between.. Mr. Kiernan has successfully handled several bench and jury trials as both a prosecutor and a defense attorney.  While actively practicing as a true courtroom advocate, Kiernan also continues to research the evolving areas of law, especially in the fields of criminal defense and bankruptcy, in order to be able to provide the pinnacle of legal advocacy and counsel to his clients in those matters.  Indeed, Kiernan played an instrumental role in the developing area of double jeopardy jurisprudence in relation to DWI charges, leading to an appellate ruling mirroring his arguments from the Superior Court level.  More recently, Kiernan is now again involved in an unsettled area of jurisprudence regarding traffic stops in relation to search and seizure that is entering appellate review.. With a strong background in chemistry, mathematics, engineering, and computer science, Kiernan is able to draw from those logic based areas of study and apply the same concepts to the practice of law, allowing for well-planned, sound, creative, and most importantly successful legal strategies for his clients' cases.
