Michael Pellegrin graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University and received his law degree from American University's Washington College of Law (WCL) in Washington, D.C. in 2009.  During law school, he prepared for a client-centered law practice by serving clients through his work in WCL's Criminal Justice Clinic, at the Public Defender's Office in Rockville, MD, and at the Public Defender's Office in Alexandria, VA.  He passed the bar in Tennessee in 2009.  Prior to returning to Tennessee in 2013, he operated his own law office in Washington, D.C., where his practice focused on juvenile and criminal defense.

Frankie Slaughter received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Nashville School of Law. He is an active member of the following organizations:. When he returned to this area, Frankie started practicing law with his father, a former Sullivan County Circuit Court Judge. Frankie’s original goal was to become a prosecutor as he had prosecuted cases in a clinic while in law school. After law school, his job was going to be as a prosecutor for the First Judicial District under David Crockett. However, the position for an additional assistant attorney general was not funded.
