Alex Little concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense, government investigations, criminal and civil appeals and general litigation and dispute resolution. Immediately prior to joining Bone McAllester Norton, Alex served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, where he prosecuted cases involving national security, white collar crime, drugs and violent crime. As a former prosecutor, Alex draws on extensive trial and appellate experience in state and federal courts to aggressively represent clients facing investigations or defending against criminal charges.. Alex has a particular passion for solving problems at the intersection of criminal law and technology. During his time with the U.S. Department of Justice, Alex developed a deep understanding of this terrain, including the legal issues implicated by Title III wiretaps, GPS tracking, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA), video surveillance and evidence obtained from social networking sites like Facebook and Instagram. A self-described “techie,” Alex takes pride translating technological jargon to plain English to ensure that juries and judges understand the issues at stake.. Before his time as a federal prosecutor, Alex worked on a broad range of foreign policy matters in the United States and abroad. He has served as a law clerk and consultant to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), as an analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency and as an adviser to former President Jimmy Carter in the Conflict Resolution Program at The Carter Center. In those roles, he assisted in the development of the first indictments issued by the ICC for war crimes in Uganda, drafted intelligence briefings for senior U.S. policymakers and facilitated negotiations between governments and rebel groups in Africa.. Alex also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Vanderbilt Law School, where he teaches a course on “The Law of Secrets and Lies,” which covers everything from perjury, defamation and fraud to the Espionage Act, grand jury secrecy and the Fourth Amendment.. Alex is a native of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and an alumnus of Riverdale High School. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina and attended law school at Georgetown University Law Center. He and his wife live in Nashville.

In December of 2018, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Technological University. The following August, I started law school while working full-time. In 2020, I began working for Lannom & Williams as the Investigator and Law Clerk to Frank Lannom.. In 2023, I graduated from the Nashville School of Law in May and was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in October. My role in the firm transitioned to an Associate Attorney for our criminal defense team. I am a member of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defenses Lawyers and the Tennessee Bar Association.. I believe that hard work is required to provide clients with the best representation for their case. No matter the case or the legal issue, the objective is to always be an advocate for the client’s needs and do what is best for the client.

I was born and raised in rural Tennessee. After attending college at Middle Tennessee State University and law school at Belmont University, I am glad to be back home working out of Lebanon, Tennessee. I enjoy golfing, banking, classical music, and the Nashville Predators.
