A Louisiana native and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Yves M. Verret, III, obtained his B.A. in Criminal Justice from Northeast Louisiana University, and subsequently entered the work force, prior to attending Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he obtained his Juris Doctor.Upon completion of law school, Verret moved his family to Shreveport where he worked as a law clerk at the 1st Judicial District Court in Shreveport, Louisiana. Verret is now in private practice and handles cases across a broad legal spectrum, including personal injury, criminal defense, and family/domestic law, and has experienced many successful outcomes for an ever-growing client base. Verret is a member of the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Shreveport Bar Association, the Bossier Bar Association, the Louisiana Association for Justice, the Krewe of Justinian, and is also a member of the Marine Corp Association and National Rifle Association. Prior to returning home to North Louisiana, Lucien previously held the position of Senior Director of Security, Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance of L’Auberge duc Lac Casino Resort, an expansive 227-acre luxury gaming resort located in Lake Charles, Louisiana, with 2,500 employees and revenues exceeding $380 million per year.  Lucien was responsible for all aspects of the property security and regulatory compliance programs for the State of Louisiana, the U.S. Department of Treasury, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (Title 31) and Sarbanes-Oxley.  Lucien directed all general liability and workers compensation matters and worked closely with outside and corporate legal counsel to ensure efficient and effective resolution.. Lucien is also active in the Louisiana Bar Association, the Shreveport Bar Association, the DeSoto Parish Bar Association and formerly the Louisiana Casino Association and the Louisiana District Attorney’s Association where he had the unique experience of working directly with local, state, and federal governmental and elected officials on issues important to these various interests.  Lucien has served as co-chair of the Southwest Chamber of Commerce’s Governmental Affairs Committee and was a visiting professor For McNeese State University where he taught The Legal Environment of Business.. Lucien earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana in 1995 and his Law Degree from Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1998..
