I am a member of the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Participating in these organizations helps keep me informed. I have been recognized as a Super Lawyer (Missouri-Kansas) and received the Women's Justice Award for trial work from Missouri Lawyers Weekly.. I am a Past President of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association and continue to serve the bar on the Greene County Bench and Bar Committee.

I defend criminal cases in Greene County and the surrounding counties of Lawrence, Christian, Taney, Stone, Webster, Polk, Barry, Douglas, Wright, Dade, and Texas.. I handle felony and misdemeanor drug cases, DWI & DUI, burglary, stealing and other property crimes, probation violations, and traffic tickets. I also help clients receive limited driving privileges, license reinstatements, and expungements.. I have a great deal of training and experience in sentencing mitigation and treatment courts. Approximately 25% of my practice involves preparing private pre-sentence investigations and sentencing mitigation reports for other attorneys. I serve on area drug courts for over eight years, and I have spoken at numerous drug court and addiction treatment conferences. Russ Dempsey attended the University of Central Missouri where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. He then attended Washburn Law School in Topeka, Kansas, where he graduated with honors in 2002.. Upon graduating from Law School, Russ worked in the Traffic Division of the Greene County Prosecutor’s office handling primarily DWI cases before he was appointed as the Prosecutor and Assistant City Attorney for the City of Branson.. In January of 2005, Russ returned to the Greene County Prosecutor’s office in the Person’s Division where his focus shifted from DWI and traffic law offenses to serious violent crimes against women and children. In January of 2011, after spending 6 years prosecuting complex domestic assaults, child sex cases and adult rape cases, Russ was promoted to the head of the Major Crimes Division where he managed the other attorneys in the Major Crimes Division and carried a caseload which included  Felony Drug Possession, Drug Manufacturing/Distribution, Burglaries, Robberies, Serious Assaults, and Homicides.. In addition to his other duties, Russ was a POST certified instructor at the Springfield Police Academy where he taught new police officers Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Constitutional Law, Search and Seizure Law and other legal topics.. In 2013, Russ’s extensive Jury Trial and Bench Trial experiences were recognized by the Missouri Bar Association when he became Missouri’s 2013 recipient of the Lon O. Hocker Trial Advocacy Award. Douglas L. Healy is a 2000 graduate of the University of Arkansas law school. After completing law school, he practiced law in his hometown before moving to Springfield to serve as a Greene County Prosecutor, where he was a Senior Trial Attorney. In 2004, Douglas L. Healy moved to Jefferson City, where he served as Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the Missouri Public Service Commission. Jason has been a life-long resident of Southwest Missouri.  Jason is number 6 of 7 children raised by a school teacher and truck driver.  Jason began working on the family farm at the age of  8 years old which established a strong work ethic.. Jason is a graduate of Springfield Catholic High school, Southwest Missouri State University and The University of Tulsa College of Law.  Prior to seeking an education in history and law, Jason traveled the county working on a steel crew in the construction industry.  Such a diverse back ground provides him with a unique perspective.. Jason began his legal career at a local firm and then became Real Estate Counsel to American Freightways, Inc., the predecessor to FedEX Freight.  At American Freightways, Jason was involved in the acquisition and development of real estate for trucking terminals.  Answering a calling to the court room, Jason left American Freightways in 2001 and opened an office Springfield, Missouri.. Since 2001, Jason has been a trial attorney representing Southwest Missouri clients with their needs in the court room. Tyson has called Springfield and Southwest Missouri home for most of his life.  While in undergraduate school, Tyson served in many leadership roles on the campus of Drury College, participating in Student Senate and chairing the School Security commitee.  It was while in school that Tyson got his first taste of criminal law as an intern at the Greene County Prosecutor's Office.  Upon graduation, Tyson continued his studies at the University of Missouri School of Law in Columbia, and continued to work for the Prosecutor's Office in Greene County as well as Boone County, Missouri.  Upon graduating form law school, Tyson came back to Springfield and worked at the Greene County Proecuting Attorney's office as an Assistant Prosecutor in the Crimes against Persons unit handling assualts, domestics and weapons cases.  He was then promoted to senior assistant in the Major crimes unit handling homicides, robberies and major drug offenses.  During this time he was also cross designated as a Special Assistant United States Attorney handling weapon and drug cases.  In 2006 he was promoted to the 1st Assistant Prosecutor surpervising attonreys in the unit and trying multiple homicide and serious felony cases.  Tyson went into private practice in 2008 and has continued to pull on his extensive trial and courtroom experience, now representing individuals charged with all types of criminal casaes.  He has handled and tried over 15 homicide cases, and countless other felonies, and misdemeanors from both sides.
