I am a 4th generation Idahoan, Christian, and constitutional conservative. I practice in many areas of law, but I am most passionate about firearms law and constitutional law. I founded LAWMAN LLC in 2016, while I was attending law school, with the intent of serving the underrepresented areas of rural America.

James graduated from Washington and Lee University, School of Law, in Virginia, and did his undergraduate studies at Western Washington University. He is a native of Washington, and he grew up in King and Snohomish Counties. At WWU, James studied Philosophy.  Many areas of his studies, such as Formal Logic, Epistemology and Ethics, all combine to create an excellent background for an attorney.  They contribute to the ability to break a statute down into its constituent propositions, to build solid arguments, and to spot the logical fallacies on which opponents’ arguments might be based.  Each of these skills is invaluable for any practicing attorney.. For law school, James selected the prestigious Washington and Lee University in historic Lexington, VA.  Washington and Lee University School of Law has an excellent reputation for producing solid legal scholars.  While at W&L, James contributed to the Lexington Principles Project, and volunteered at Blue Ridge Legal Services in Lexington, a civil legal aid organization.. James is also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Desert Storm and Somalia while an active duty soldier.  Later, James spent several years in the reserves.

I am admitted to practice law throughout the State of Maryland (1993) and Illinois (2013) as well as the following courts: the U.S. District Court of Maryland (1994), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit (2003), the U.S. Court of Federal Claims (1994),the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (2003) and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (2018) and the United States Supreme Court.. I take my role as an attorney and counselor very seriously and believe that it is imperative that lawyers must hold themselves to a higher ethical standard and therefore I have served on the Maryland Attorney Grievance Commission's Peer Review Committee from 2008 - 2013 and currently from 2018 - present.. Ryan graduated with a B.S. in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida. A Florida Bright Futures Scholarship recipient and Dean’s List honoree, he then began a career in business and sales management. Having a strong desire to advocate and continue with his legal career, he attended Barry College of Law in Orlando, Florida.While attending law school on an academic scholarship, Ryan worked as a law clerk in an established criminal defense firm. He additionally participated in an internship with the Osceola County Attorney’s Office and a judicial externship under Circuit Judge Jenifer M. Davis of the 9th Circuit in and for Orange County, Florida.Upon graduation and obtaining licensure with the State of Florida, he practiced appellate law for a national appellate firm where he gained invaluable experience and knowledge that he is now determined to use to assist his clients in a personal, individualized manner. Ryan currently lives in Orlando, Florida with his wife and three children.
