After attending the University of Illinois for Undergraduate school I attended Northern Illinois University School of Law.  I was a Prosecutor for the McLean County State's Attorney's office before leaving the office to practice with my father Jim Finegan. I specialize in Criminal Defense, including DUIs, felony cases, drugs cases, expungements and orders of protection and will use my background as a Prosecutor to help you defend your case.

Jeff W. Lindsay, at is a graduate of Illinois State University and DePaul University College of Law. Mr. Lindsay is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. As you can see, I have just retired from the Cook County State's Attorney's Office where I was a senior attorney in both the Criminal and Civil Divisions. I am an attorney with a broad range of legal experience.  Since beginning my legal career in 2002 I have worked as a criminal prosecutor, a commercial litigator, a deputy general counsel, and now a private practicioner with my own firm.. In addition to my civilian career, I am also a Major in the United States Army Reserve where I currently serve as a Judge Advocate.  I began my military service in R.O.T.C. at John Carroll University.  I was commissioned a Second Lieutenant upon graduation from college in 1996 and served on active duty.  In 1999, I left active duty to attend law school and joined the Illinois Army National Guard.  In 2000, I joined the Army Reserve.. In 2003, I was recalled to active duty and mobilized to the Middle East in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.. I reside in the suburbs of Chicago and when I am not working I enjoy spending time with family and friends, working out, running, biking, tennis, and fishing.

Also, I am not one who went straight from high school to college and then right into law school. Like my father, I thought it was important to get real-world experience before committing my life to the practice of law. Originally, I worked as a union carpenter in the area, and put those skills to work designing and constructing the Johnson Law Group Offices. While raising a family and obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I worked as a private investigator, where I gained advanced knowledge of many investigative practices. Through my time as a private investigator, I gained skills at interviewing, taking statements, and collecting and preserving evidence. Since then, I worked for many years with State Farm at their Regional and Corporate offices, and became an experienced negotiator conducting mediations representing State Farm's interests against lawyers, and I hadn’t even gone to law school yet.. Following in my father’s footsteps, I obtained my license to practice law, first in Illinois and then in the District of Columbia (D.C.). I have experience handling everything from a petty traffic offense to class X felony cases. I also have experience in a number of different practice areas including: civil litigation, business planning and incorporation, expungement, sealing, and executive clemency, appellate practice, and real estate matters to name a few. After leaving the Bronx DA's Office, I joined the private sector and expanded my areas of practice in Criminal Defense, Matrimonial, Family, Real Estate, Civil, Estate Planning and Traffic Law.

I have been an attorney practicing in Suffolk County, New York for the past 43 years. Throughout that time, I have represented thousands of criminal defendants in matters including, DWI and DUI, burglary, white collar crime and murder in both State and Federal Court.  I have tried over a thousand cases throughout my career, with much success..
