Jim graduated from the University of Denver College of Law in 1994 after receiving his Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Arizona State University in 1991.  Jim is a past president of the Pinal County Bar Association, and has practiced locally and served Pinal County for over 23 years.  He is a member of the Arizona Bar Association, Pinal County Bar Association and Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice.       In January of 2015, Jim received an award from Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice for his work on a Capital Murder Case that received national and local media attention and involved the disqualification of the Pinal County Attorney's Office from prosecuting his client because of their unethical actions.     As an experienced trial attorney, Jim practices in the areas of criminal law, DUI, juvenile law, and family law. In 2006, Jim was appointed as a Pinal County Superior Court Judge Pro Tem.. I have a passion for helping people. My goal is to help those who need it most.. I served 11 years on active duty with the Air Force JAG Corps. My previous assignments included division chief/instructor of Military Justice at the Air Force JAG school. While I taught all things "Justice," my specialty areas were Trial Advocacy, Arguments, and Evidence. Previously, I was responsible for representing Airmen in courts-martial, administrative discharge boards, and other administrative processes potentially detrimental to their career.  I have prosecuted and defended just short of 100 courts-martial and other administrative hearings. I am licensed to practice law before all state courts in Alabama as well as the Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals and the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. I am currently a Lieutenant Colonel is the Air National Guard and I serve as a regional defense counsel for the Southeast region.. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife and my two children.  Additionally, I enjoy reading, exercising, and keeping fit.. I enjoy what I do and am very passionate about my job.  I'm always willing to assist anyone in anyway I can.
