Dani joined Brandt Kettwick Defense in 2018 as an associate attorney. She has experience on both sides of criminal law. Prior to joining Brandt Kettwick Defense, she worked at the Anoka County Attorney’s office and assisted in prosecuting cases through the criminal justice system. She also worked for two years as a law clerk with the Tenth Judicial District Public Defender’s Office where she represented clients through every stage of the criminal justice system. Prior to her prosecution work, she worked as a law clerk in the office of Giancola & Durkin and conducted extensive research on various areas of criminal law. Throughout these experiences, Dani has handled hundreds of cases and co-chaired three felony jury trials. She has helped to negotiate pleas and has argued and won favorable dispositions at the district court level.. Outside of Brandt Kettwick Defense, Dani has been a firefighter with the Andover Fire Department since 2015 and truly believes in helping individuals in need. Ms. Burkhammer has been practicing law since 2006. She came to Alexandria in 2007, when she was hired as an Assistant Douglas County Attorney. She spent the next seven years prosecuting criminal cases for Douglas County. Over the course of her legal career, Ms. Burkhammer has tried more than a dozen criminal jury trials. In 2015, she was named “Prosecutor of the Year” by the Minnesota Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators for her work on an arson case. Ms. Burkhammer now puts her extensive litigation experience to work for the benefit of her criminal defense and family law clients at the Thornton Law Office.

Nick loves practicing law in and out of the courtroom. Before that, he clerked for Justice Carol Ronning Kapsner at the North Dakota Supreme Court.. Nick received his undergraduate degree in criminal justice from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He received his law degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. Nick has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Mary and is pursuing a Ph.D. in criminal justice from the University of North Dakota.. Nick has authored two articles published by the North Dakota Law Review, presented on a number of criminal defense-related topics at continuing legal education seminars, and has taught law-related classes at the University of Mary. I grew up on a ranch in the country near Anson, Texas, not far from Abilene. Growing up in "the sticks" was an adventure, and it helped shape my early life. I graduated Valedictorian of my high school in 1995 and went to Texas A&M University where I graduated in 1999 in the top 10% of my class with a B.B.A. in Accounting. After graduation with honors from A&M, I went straight to law school at Texas Tech University School of Law on a full scholarship. I finished law school in the top 10% of my class with a Juris Doctorate (J.D) in law. After law school, I moved back to Abilene and went to work for a local firm.After working as an associate at a law firm for a year, I almost quit being a lawyer for good. I decided to quit my job at the firm and took off on an adventure, backpacking Europe for three (3) months. When I got back with a new perspective on life, I decided to start my own law practice and be my own boss. I haven't looked back since. For the last 20 years, I have fought for people who need an experienced, aggressive lawyer to stand up for their rights when injured, charged with a crime, or confronted with a divorce or custody battle. Jon is a graduate from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, in Fort Worth, TX. While in law school, he focused his studies on criminal law and family law. Jon took courses in criminal law, adoption law, and white collar crime. Additionally, Jon was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. Jon took the education he received in law school and quickly became a trial attorney. The day after passing the bar Jon, was in a courtroom handling a docket.. Prior to opening his own practice, Jon worked as a prosecutor. As a prosecutor, Jon has tried everything from misdemeanors to felonies. Jon was assigned to the Family Violence Unit and the Economic Crimes Unit where he gained valuable insight to help you. In addition to handling several hundred cases as a prosecutor, Jon also attended training focusing on trial skills, juvenile law, and economic crime cases. Attorney Huff grew up in Austin and graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2016 with dual majors and minors. There, she was active in the Human Rights Program and continued her life-long Spanish studies in Madrid. Attorney Huff then attended Baylor Law School, where she coordinated the immigration clinic, argued in national moot court competitions, and completed the criminal law specialty track. Baylor's intensive Practice Court program made her "courtroom ready," and Attorney Huff began working as a criminal defense lawyer at a growing criminal defense firm in Addison in 2018.
