Following graduation, I attended law school at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. During my time in law school, I worked as a law clerk for the Arkansas Attorney General's Office. Upon receiving my attorney license, I practiced for a short time as a criminal defense attorney before returning to the Attorney General's Office as an Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Division where I represented state boards and agencies. During my employment there, I also spent time working in the Consumer Protection Division where I was responsible for enforcing the provisions of the tobacco master settlement agreement.. In 2004, I left the Arkansas Attorney General's Office and moved to Portland, Oregon where I attended Multnomah University and received a Master of Divinity. I also passed the Oregon Bar Exam to receive my Oregon law license.. In 2010, I relocated back to Arkansas and worked as an attorney for the Arkansas Department of Human Services handling foster care cases in Benton County.
