One of my recent cases of interest is State v. Jepsen, 09 CF 0005, in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. Alan was charged with Sexual Assault of a Child, contrary to Wis. Stats. (2). That charge carried a possible 40 year prison sentence with 25 years of exposure for initial confinement, along with 15 years of extended supervision. The interesting issue, which garnered national media attention, was that at the same time, a young woman was charged with a misdemeanor for similar activity.. We resolved Alan's case with a misdemeanor, and he received probation. You can see articles on the case that appeared on The Daily Beast (posted March 19, 2009), and another that appeared in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (Jim Stingl, Sunday, March 22, 2009). You can also find a radio interview from Wednesday, March 25, 2009, on Seattle, WA radio station, KIRO, 97.3 FM, on Dave Ross' show.
