Currently the Managing Partner at The Mouton aw Firm in Shreveport, LA.. Education. Went straight through Jr. College (AA '91) graduating w/Presidential Honors, then Began my to The University of New Orleans (BA '93). Undergrad at UNO was truly wonderful, having the chance to attend & experience college in the Big Easy. Won a scholarship to study abroad in Innsbruck, Austria in my senior year, and went back the entire following summer as Asst to the Director of the UNO Int'l Study Program before miraculously getting admitted to LSU Law School in '93 in Baton Rouge (JD '96). Passed the LA State Bar on the first attempt.. Workplace. Started off in the late 70's learning a trade: Printing. Made a good impression as a press operator & quick print shop manager through my late 20's in Tampa, FL. Was a bellman at a Captiva Island, FL resort, South Seas Plantation for a few years. Later, I landed a position at a local record store in Brandon, FL (The Record Factory) where I rose to Manager in no time. Flipped over my much loved Toyota Celica Supra in '84 and was sidelined for about a year, then got my feet all wet managing my family's Scuba Diving shop in Apollo Beach. My MIL owned a motel in Maggie Valley, NC which my wife, Cindy & I managed for a several years. Fate & circumstances led me to New Orleans where I started college. Worked as an English Composition tutor, an Administrative Assistant, and then as a WestLaw Student Rep. Sold used Macs through college and offered Apple tech support much like the Maytag Service guy, too! After getting to Shreveport I hung my own shingle in '99 and have made a decent living as a General Practitioner ever since, following a 3 year stint slaving a'ways as a Public Defender. Actually, I loved the gig as a 'free lawyer' a la Atticus Finch, Matlock & Perry Mason; I've racked up a pretty solid reputation along the way.

I am 1989 graduate of  the University of South Carolina Honors College, magna cum laude, and a 1993 graduate of the University of Chicago Law School. While in law school, I completed a clinical education program with a concentration in criminal law.  After graduation I began my career as an assistant public defender with the Cook County Public Defender s Office in Chicago. I have been a criminal lawyer, and only a criminal lawyer, ever since.. In 1996, I returned to New Orleans, establishing my professional career with the Orleans Parish Public Defender’s Office. In early 1998, I established NOLA Criminal Law, because I sensed there was a need for a lawyer like me – a lawyer who was willing to try to do things a little bit differently than most. What I mean is this: sometimes lawyers don’t make any sense. Sometimes clients feel like their lawyer doesn’t understand them or their problems. In criminal law especially, effective communication is HUGE. If your lawyer doesn’t understand your problem, your lawyer can’t help you solve it.. NOLA Criminal Law exists because I want to understand your problem. It exists because I am interested in being a lawyer without always having to act like a lawyer (I do, however, dress like a lawyer). I promise that I will act like a regular person, who happens also to be a good lawyer.. NOLA Criminal Law also exists because I want to help solve your problem. My goal is to provide a top-notch professional service to all of my clients, while still maintaining a level of personal dedication to each individual client. I promise that your criminal problem, whatever it is, will get the attention it deserves, and hopefully the result you expect.. NOLA Criminal Law also exists because it is my experience that when you have a criminal problem, you need a criminal lawyer. Over the course of my career, I have handled well over four thousand felony criminal cases, hundreds of DWI case, and countless misdemeanor and traffic cases. I promise you the fruits of that experience when I show up in court to handle your case.. Please explore the rest of this website, and if you have questions or concerns please call, text, email or tweet me anytime.
