I believe the law profession chose me long before I chose it.  As a young child I was often told I could argue with a wall.  I now have been involved in the legal community for over 20 years.  I began my career as a receptionist and worked my way through the industry as a secretary, paralegal, and administrative assistant while obtaining my education at Middle Tennessee State University.  I spent 8 years of my legal career serving the Tennessee Judiciary as a Judicial Assistant to two circuit judges.    My personal experiences and peer encouragement lead me to further my education by attending the Nashville School of Law all while I continued to work full time.  Graduating in 2006, I began to seek the area of law that most suited my personality and conviction.   I am committed to serving families in Tennessee as they navigate the temptuous waters of family law.  I am committed to doing my best to represent my client's interests without compromising the values for which I hold dear.  Honesty, integrity and thorough communication are not compromised in my approach to each case.  It is my desire to educate and assist a client in making the best possible decision in their case. Dear Reader,. First, thank you for read this "About Me" section.  Like looking to hire a contractor for your next home project, I believe it is important that litigants research and learn about any attorney they are considering hiring for their familly-law matter.  When it comes to spending your money and protecting your most precious assets (children and assets), trusting and having faith in your attorney is vitally important.. I have been practicing family law in California since 2001.  My experience in many California family-law courts has taught me that first understanding the big picture and ultimate goal of their case is so important when commencing or responding to a family law matter--whether it be in a divorce, custody matter and/or support matter--or any other type of family-law matter.  Based on my many years of family-law experience, I work with my full-representation and coaching clients to help them understand the importance of how to best proceed with their family-law matter.  For instance, before a person decides to run to family-law court, for any legal reason, I strongly believe it's very important that the individual first understand the risks, benefits and possible consquences of their actions--as well as understand the chances their lawsuit will be successful.  Also, unlike many family-law attorney, I am a strong advocate of teaching my clients the fundamental basics of the legal process and procedures--since many family-law cases continue for many years--well-after their attorney is no longer in the picture.  A general working knowledge of the law, procedures and local rules (and judges) is vitally important so that litigants can set reasonable expectations regarding the outcome of their case.. My family-law practice consists of  providing full legal representation (traditional legal services) about 80% of the time to clients who can afford full legal representation. For the remaining 20% who cannot afford to hire an attorney to represent them, but genuinely need some type of legal help, I provide what is known as "unbundled legal services." For instance, legal coaching is a form of unbundled legal services.  Regardless of the type of family-law legal services you need, I am able to help.. My personal experience also helps me help my clients. My first marriage ended in divorce in 1995 and I was a single parent for the entirety of my kiddo's childhod. Thus, I know and also understand the complex and intricate emotional component of  family-law issues--which are unique to this area of law.
