Joseph A. Cervantez is a Graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Law. Joseph had the privilege of beginning his career as an Assistant State’s Attorney with the Williamson County State’s Attorney’s Office where he gained valuable court room experience prosecuting offenses ranging from traffic violations to class X felonies. He continued his work with the Saline County State’s Attorney’s Office as an Assistant State’s Attorney handling the busy Juvenile Docket.. Since Joseph went into private practice he’s handled a variety of cases throughout the 1st and 2nd judicial Circuit of Illinois as well as in Federal Court. Joseph handles a variety of cases including Divorce, Custody, and Personal Injury but is known for work on DUI, Aggravated DUI  and complex Criminal Defense.. Joseph was born and raised in the Chicago land Area. After high school Joseph enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served as a Marine Infantry Leader, deploying in 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008 to Iraq. He then worked as a NATO Weapons Advisor and Trainer, traveling and working throughout Afghanistan. Joseph eventually graduated law school and began his law career here in Marion Illinois.. Patrick is an attorney in Harrisburg, Illinois. Patrick attended Illinois State University where he received his B.S. in Economics. After college, Patrick worked in the financial sector for many years, where he was entrusted with managing millions of dollars in assets. In 2012, Patrick decided to make a career change and attended Southern Illinois University School of Law earning his law degree and graduating a semester early. After law school, Patrick and his wife Tiffany chose to stay in Southern Illinois as they felt it was the best place to start a family. They now have a son and two dogs. Patrick is licensed in both Illinois and Missouri.

Kaitlyn Copi has been a domestic relations litigator since 2014. Having been born and raised in Will County, Kaitlyn committed her dynamic law practice to helping local families in need of a zealous and ethical advocate. Kaitlyn prides herself on her cost-efficient representation of clients with effective communication, compassion, and integrity.. Kaitlyn graduated in the top third of her class at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago with certificates in Trial Advocacy and Alternative Dispute Resolution. In addition to the Dean’s List, she earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Award® for achieving the highest grade in several of her law school courses. Kaitlyn chose The John Marshall Law School to continue her legal education after receiving scholarships totaling over $40, in recognition for her trial competition performance in the John Marshall Office of Diversity Affairs Undergraduate Mock Trial Competitions.. While in law school, Kaitlyn was a member of the Trial Advocacy and Alternative Dispute Resolution Honors Society and represented the law school in civil litigation and arbitration competitions. Outside of school, Mrs. Copi clerked for a general practice litigation firm, and also utilized her Illinois Supreme Court Rule 711 license clerking for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office Felony Trial Division.. Prior to law school, Kaitlyn graduated with honors in 2011 from Lewis University, where she double-majored in Philosophy of Law and Psychology. In addition to her regular studies, she completed a full Scholars Academy curriculum and received the Philosophy of Law senior department award. Her activities at Lewis included participation in the nationally ranked Lewis University Mock Trial and Mediation Teams. She was also nominated by her professors for induction into the Delta Epsilon Sigma Honor Society. Kaitlyn returned to Lewis to coach the Mock Trial teams from 2015 to 2017.. Kaitlyn’s commitment to family law practice began in 2009 when she worked as a legal assistant for a prominent family law and mediation attorney in Will County. She was also a visitation supervisor for the Will County Circuit Court in 2011. For her hard work and dedication to the family law practice, Kaitlyn was named a 10 Best Attorney for client satisfaction by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys in 2017. Prior to opening Copi Law, LLC, in November, 2020, Kaitlyn handled paternity, divorce, child support, and post-decree litigation cases as an associate attorney for a local Joliet firm. Pat joined Chuck Bretz & Associates in 2008.  Pat began her legal career in 1987 working as an Associate attorney at the Chicago Law firm of Johnson & Bell, where she concentrated her practice in Medical malpractice and Insurance Defense.  She then spent several years engaged in the general practice of law as a sole practitioner.. At Chuck Bretz & Associates, Pat concentrates in Family Law, including but not limited to: contested divorce, custody matters, post-decree matters, Guardianships and DCFS matters.  Pat also is available to provide legal services in regard to Probate and Real Estate matters..
