I am a Franklin based attorney, with a general practice that includes handling family law matters, criminal defense, and employment law issues (particularly governmental employees and police officers’ rights). I take pride in consistently communicating with my clients to ensure that they are able to make fully informed decisions with regard to each aspect of their particular case. Prior to becoming an attorney, I served as a police officer the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department for over ten years. Mr. Mathis is a founding partner of Mathis, Bates and Klinghard PLLC and a proud father of two.  He has extensive experience in the areas of family law, civil litigation, criminal law, and personal injury.  Mr. Mathis has reputable trial and litigation experience and represents business entities and individuals in a wide array of legal matters in both Tennessee and Kentucky.. Mr. Mathis graduated from Capital University Law School with honors in 2007.  While in law school he worked for two years learning the world of insurance defense while clerking for the Cincinnati Insurance Company.  His time there gave him an insiders understanding of how insurance companies defend personal injury claims. This knowledge has helped Mr. Mathis settle millions of dollars of claims for his clients as a result of injuries incurred in various motor vehicle accidents.. I am a native of Middle Tennesse, born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. In 1999, I graduated from the University of Mississippi with a B.A. in History, and in 2002, I graduated from law school at the University of Memphis, where I received a J.D. at the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.  During law school, I served as a member of the University of Memphis Law Review and clerked for the Honorable Robert A. Lanier of the Circuit Court for Shelby County, Tennessee.. In 2006, I became a partner/member of  Batson Nolan, PLC which is an 18 member all purpose law firm located in Clarksville and Springfield, Tennesse.. Taylor Hutson is originally from Murfreesboro, and she obtained her undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University. She then graduated from the University of Memphis School of Law with her Juris Doctor.. Ms. Hutson has worked for law offices as well as title companies and has experience in a variety of areas. She joined the Law Office of Taylor R. Dahl and began practicing law in Montgomery and surrounding counties in 2022.. Ms. Hutson's practice focuses primarily on litigation and family law, but also includes estate planning as well as business and transactional matters. She is currently the Treasurer of the Montgomery County Bar Association and serves as an Advisor for the Sigma Kappa Chapter of Chi Omega at APSU.

With a catholic father from New York and an evangelical mother who grew up outside of Houston, Shawn learned to appreciate multiple sides and outlooks early on in life.  He’s not scared of conflict, but rather views it as an opportunity to learn something new.. Shawn’s naturally inclined to help people solve their disagreements before going to war and this mentality serves his family law clients well.  Most families don’t need to hire a warrior who views every encounter as a battle to be won; they need a lawyer who simply sees problems that need to be solved.. A native Texan, Shawn went to Texas A&M University where he double-majored in Political Science and English and also received a minor in History.. Shawn received his JD from South Texas College of Law.  While in law school he taught himself how to play guitar.  His guitar playing skills are very much on par with his singing ability, which is to say: they are both quite mediocre, but he entertains himself and his wife, Lesley, is kind enough to humor him.. After law school, Shawn spent nearly three years as the executive director of a community mediation center.  He is a Rule 31 mediator and has participated in hundreds of mediations.. I am a licensed and practicing attorney in the state of Tennessee. I am currently with the law firm of Whatley and Ricci, PLLC in Columbia, TN. I graduated from Nashville School of Law in May 2023 and became licensed in October of the same year. Since 2020, I have worked under Jason Whatley as a paralegal and law clerk, now as an associate attorney. My practice is primarily family law and juvenile cases.

A Loretto native, Cameron obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Memphis and J.D. from Vanderbilt University before returning to Lawrence County to practice law. Cameron focuses primarily on civil litigation, handling cases in both state and federal courts. I graduated from California Western School of Law in San Diego in December 2010. Shortly thereafter, I moved from California to my hometown in Tennessee. In 2011 I was admitted to both the California and the Tennessee Bar. Angela Hoover is a native of Williamson County and a seventh generation Middle Tennessean.  Angela is a graduate of Franklin High School where she was active in the mock trial program, and was a nationally ranked debate champion. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from the University of Tennessee.  While in college, Angela served as President of her sorority, a UT Ambassador, and a student lobbyist.  Angela earned her law degree from the Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law at the University of Memphis and was licensed to practice law in 2004.  While in law school she was the Student Bar Association Executive Director, won awards for Excellence in Conflicts of Law and the Dean’s Award for Best Oral Advocate.  She was one of only three members on the school’s prestigious National Moot Court team.  Angela currently serves as the managing partner of her family’s law practice in her hometown of Franklin.
