At McGraw Law, P.C. we compassionately help real families solve very real problems. We understand that to most people family is the single most important thing, and the most important relationships in their lives. We also understand, and take the approach to our practice, that despite the parties' inability to get along, and the reality that in some instances members of the family will be ultimately better served in no longer remaining together under the same roof, the family nevertheless does not have to be destroyed.. We always remember that regardless of how many clients we represent, the individual client's family is the only one they have. Therefore, their case is always the most important, and we try hard to never lose sight of this reality. In all domestic and family law cases we protect and uphold our client's rights to the maximum extent allowable under the law, in order to obtain for them every single benefit and privilege to which they are entitled. At the same time we work hard to foster and encourage a loving, healthy and nurturing family relationship as much as possible for all involved.. My mission is to provide effective legal representation to all clients at all times; to obtain for them all rights and privileges to which they are entitled under the law to the maximum extent possible; to always maintain open and clear communication with the client on all issues pertaining to their case; and to always provide prompt, competent, and compassionate legal services.. We offer a 30 minute, initial, free, no-obligation consultation. Our standard hourly fee (for attorney time only; no support staff services are billed at all to the client in our firm), for cases in which we charge an hourly fee, is $250 per hour. However, many cases lend themselves to a flat fee, or other alternative fee arrangement. The actual fee to be charged of course will depend upon the specific facts and circumstances of each individual case, and therefore will need to be discussed personally and individually with each client.
I look forward to providing clients with excellent legal services. Customer service is a staple in my office. I return calls within 24 hours and treat my clients like they are a name on a file, not a number.

I have been practicing immigration law for over 25 years And am certified as an Immigration Specislist in the State of California. I enjoy it because I enjoy my clients. Most of them become my friends of the future. We experience so many things together, by the time their case is done, we often cry together in happiness that things are Ok. Many of my clients are removal cases which involve criminal matters. Those are the ones that are often the most rewarding when we win.. Immigration law is getting harder and harder to practice. So many things are unknown, and with the US' political views being so bipolar, you never know how the law will change overnight. That is why we have so many resources to check, and double check. Predicting the future is definitely a difficult task.. Our office is small and we offer individualized attention. If you want an attorney to accompany you somewhere, you will get me. I finalize everything, and work with you throughout the entire process we will go thorugh. My paralegals are nice too, and very concerned about our clients. Here you are not a number for us, but a first name with a family and a future.
I am passionate about the law and I care about my clients. These qualities make me a strong advocate to have on your side during this very difficult time in your life. As a mother, I know how much your children mean to you and how you would do anything to shelter them from harm. Children are often the innocent victims in their parents’ divorce. While it may be impossible to shield them entirely from the impact of your divorce, I will work with you to minimize the impact on your children as much as possible. My goal is to educate you regarding North Carolina law and how it applies to your case, so that you understand all your options. Divorce can be a terrifying experience, but I will empower you with the knowledge of what to expect every step of the way. I majored in mathematics and then worked in the banking industry for many years prior to becoming an attorney, so I have a strong financial background to handle complex financial support and property division cases. I’ve represented clients in Brunswick, Forsyth, Davie, Davidson, Rowan, Alexander, Iredell, Catawba, Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Gaston and Union counties, on matters involving child custody, child support, equitable distribution, post-separation support, alimony, contempt, and breach of contract claims. Not every case requires litigation, and many cases can be resolved out of court using alternative dispute resolution methods such as collaborative law, arbitration, and mediation. But if litigation becomes necessary, you can rely on my years of trial experience to protect your interests in the courtroom.

There is no shame in getting a divorce, nor is there any stigma for having had one these days. The overall divorce rate in California is close to 60 percent. It can happen to anyone, at any age, for any number of reasons. While I am sure that you feel the whole experience is very overwhelming and hard to accept at this time, you will eventually recover and enjoy life once again, just as I did after my divorce. Just how long this will take, however, is not the same for everyone. Each of us is a different person, and so are our circumstances.. I grew up a long time ago when you rarely ever heard of a divorce lawyer. My parents were never close but stayed together because that’s what they thought they should do. So many years later when I had my own marital problems, I did the same. I went through a cycle of trying to solve the problem, thinking it was her problem, thinking it was my problem, and finally thinking I could just live with the problem. However, after many years of this, I had been so emotionally worn down that it was all I could think about. I finally realized that life was short and I had to be happy, so I resolved to do something about it.. Once I had made that decision, the biggest hurdle for me was the feeling of being overwhelmed. How was I going to do it? How could I find a place to live where I could take my pets? What would I tell my family? How would I move out, etc? In retrospect, it was not that difficult. At the time, however, it felt virtually impossible due to the emotions I was going through. I only managed to overcome my fear by just taking the first step. Once I did that, each subsequent step became progressively easier until finally, I had completed them all.. I never realized just how much my emotions would impact my ability to make good decisions during my divorce, or almost any decision for that fact. I was acting just like everybody else going through a divorce despite the fact I had been a family law attorney for many years and should have known better. I felt vulnerable and no longer in control of my life. What I needed the most was to be able to talk to my attorney when I had a question, honest advice about what was going to happen, a realistic assessment of what things were going to cost, and to know that my case was a priority to him.. This experience transformed the way I practiced law. I did not want clients to feel the same way I did and resolved to make customer service the hallmark of our firm. I wanted each and every client to have whatever we could provide to reduce the anxiety of their divorce and to know that their needs were a priority to us. That’s why I make sure that we are available whenever they have a question, take whatever time necessary to educate them about how the process works, and always give them honest advice about the merits of their case and what things are going to cost. I want clients to know that we appreciate their business and will gladly do whatever necessary to make their divorce a better experience.
