Sarah Hart received her law degree from Creighton University School of Law in 2014 and is licensed to practice law in the State of Iowa and the State of Nebraska. Unlike most attorneys, Attorney David R. Wilson created and followed his own, very unique, pathway to practicing law.  He started his professional career in law enforcement where he excelled in many different roles. He served as a White Collar Criminal Investigator and founded the agency’s High-Tech Crimes Division.  While working as a full-time criminal investigator, he completed his bachelor’s degree in Business.. Seeking a greater challenge, David left law enforcement and entered the realm of litigation and dispute consulting. Kourtney was born and raised in the Houston area. She graduated from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Howard University in Washington, DC, with honors.. In law school, Kourtney served as Chief Student Counsel for the VanSickle Family Law Clinic. During this time, Kourtney was able to work on a diverse range of family law cases. I was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas. I grew up cheering for the University of Kansas Jayhawks, so naturally, I earned my Bachelor’s of Social Work, Master’s of Social Work, and Juris Doctor from KU.. While pursuing my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, I volunteered at the local domestic violence center and answered the crisis hotline. When I graduated with my Master’s degree, I started working for the domestic violence center full time. I helped victims safety plan around violence, leave abusive relationships safely, connected them with attorneys to represent them in legal proceedings, and accompanied them to Court as a source of support. Watching the injustices that survivors of domestic violence faced in the legal system is what led me to pursue becoming an attorney.. While attending the University of Kansas School of Law, I focused on litigation and interned for the local district attorney's office. After law school, the mountains called my name so I moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where I worked in child support enforcement for three years. As a child support enforcement lawyer, I established paternity and support orders, modified support orders, prosecuted contempt actions for non-payment of child support, and facilitated a problem-solving court. I was actively involved in the Ben S. Wendelken American Inn of Court and the El Paso County Young Lawyers Association. On the weekends, I could be found in the mountains with my husband, either hiking with my golden retriever or snowboarding.. My husband is a native Texan so we were very excited when his military service brought us to central Texas. Practicing family law in Texas has been the most enjoyable part of my legal career and assiting clients in the most important transition of their lives has been the most rewarding part of my legal practice.

Both of my parents served in the United States Navy and as a result, my two younger brothers and I were raised all over the country. After living in many different places and never having a “hometown,” I am happy to call Bellingham home and raise my two boys here with my husband, who is a Whatcom County native.. I first came to Bellingham to attend Western Washington University, where I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Health and a minor in Sociology. While at Western, I coached Girls on the Run, volunteered as a Peer Health Educator and played competitive ultimate Frisbee on both collegiate and club teams. It was on the ultimate Frisbee field that I first met my husband.. After working in Bellingham for a year after my undergraduate studies, I attended Gonzaga University School of Law, where I graduated Cum Laude. While at Gonzaga, I volunteered for the Unemployment Law Project, representing clients in hearings and written appeals to obtain unemployment benefits.. I also interned for a Spokane County Superior Court Judge and had summer internships in Bellingham, at LAW Advocates and a local law firm. Additionally, I coached Gonzaga’s undergraduate women’s ultimate Frisbee team and served in student leadership for the Gonzaga Public Interest Law Project (GPILP).. I was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 2009. I joined Shepherd and Abbott in 2012, after having worked at another local law firm for three years prior. I am grateful to work with such competent, ethical and passionate colleagues, all of whom work diligently to help our clients attain their justice..
