I am a third-generation native of Madison County, Alabama. At a young age I was a victim of a crime. The prosecutor in my case had such an impact on my life that I decided from that day forward, that I wanted to be a voice for those that cannot speak for themselves. It is for this reason, I attended law school, while maintaing a full-time job. I graduated from Bob Jones High School in Madison, Alabama. I first attended college at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tn on an athletic softball scholarship. I subsequently, transferred to Calhoun Community College where I received my Associate of Science degree in Corrections in 1994. Upon completion of my A.S. degree I attended Athens State College, where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies in 1997. Upon graduation, I decided to attend graduate school, and in 1999 I received my Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice. After working in the legal field for eight years, I took a job as Program Director of the Criminal Justice department at a local college in Huntsville, Alabama. In 2012 I made the decision to run for public office, where i was a candidate for Probate Judge of Madison County. In 2012 I started Law School at Birmingham School of Law. I took both weeknight and weekend classes, and maintained a full-time job during law school.
