I have been a practicing Washington Family Law attorney for over 46 years.. I was a previous president of the Family Law Section of the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association and the South King County Bar Association. I have also served as a Superior Court Judge pro tem, Superior Court Arbitrator, and Superior Court Commissioner pro tem for over 41 years.. I was awarded the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association Family Law Section Attorney of the Year in 2012.

I was born in Renton, Washington in 1964. Most of my life I lived in Auburn, Washington and graduated from Auburn Senior High School in 1982. In 1989 I started working in the legal industry as a paralegal/office manager in a small office in south King County. I loved working in the area of law, but after several years I realized that I wanted to become more involved in the cases than just being a paralegal. I continued working and started going to night school to obtain my Bachelor’s degree. In 2004 I graduated from the University of Washington with a major in Sociology and a minor in Communications. After that it was on to law school at Seattle University where I graduated in 2008.My work experience has given me a vast area of knowledge. During my 20 years in the legal industry, I have worked in family law, personal injury, property damage, medical malpractice, employment law, product liability, bankruptcy, criminal law, real estate, collections, fee disputes, estate planning, and probate. I even did some process serving when I was younger. Thus, my working experience has allowed me to see every aspect of a case from the bottom up.My family and I currently live in Bellevue, Washington. We love the Pacific Northwest and enjoy a lot of different outdoor activities. We also thoroughly love food and entertainment and take advantage of everything the Seattle/Bellevue area has to offer.

I have been practicing family law long enough to confidently navigate my way through all trial proceedings and am a commanding force in a courtroom. I have been described as a "bull dog in high heels". I am constantly seeking new ways to learn. My next training is a two day intensive training about cross examination in Park City Utah. I serve as a staff member for the Oklahoma Bar Association Family Law Section Trial Advocacy Institute. I was selected to attend the prestigious the three week Trial Lawyer College, conducted by Gerry Spence in Dubois Wyoming, described as the world's best trial attorney. I graduated from the American Bar Association Family Law Section National Institute for Trial Advocacy Family Law Advocacy Institute in Boulder Colorado. These are just some of the many training and education programs I have attended to keep my skills sharp. My husband is not an attorney.  But he is an avid hunter.  He and I have traveled the United States and Canada hunting.  My only child is grown and living in NYC.  My furbaby is an Australian Shepherd.  He is the baby of the family.
