Courtney Anauo joined The Colwell Law Group, LLC in May of 2022 as an Associate Attorney. She graduated from The University of Connecticut School of Law in May of 2013 and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2021. Upon graduating from law school, Courtney served a Senior Compliance Service Specialist (a JD preferred position where bar admission was not required) and led a team in forming LLCs for non-profits, developed work flow and procedures as well as worked with corporate clients. Ultimately though it was the love of the law that dictated her decision to reject a promotion and take the bar exam to return to the practice of law.. Prior to law school, Courtney attended Siena College as a Presidential Scholar and Honor’s Fellow and received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in Peace Studies and Woman’s Studies. Courtney’s Senior Thesis explored “Who Deserves the Right to Vote: Felon Disenfranchisement as a Violation of the Eighth Amendment”.. Prior to joining Colwell Law, Courtney was an Associate Attorney with Gillberg Law Firm, LLC completing hundreds of residential real estate transactions annually. She represented purchasers, sellers, banks, and the title company through all stages of the transaction from attorney approval to post closing.. While attending Law School, Courtney interned at John R. Williams and Associates where she conducted legal research and wrote cases in the fields of criminal and civil rights law. She also interned at the Criminal Appellate Clinic, The Connecticut Urban Legal Initiative, and The NYS Supreme Court under the supervision of Judge McGrath.. Outside of the firm, Courtney enjoys spending time with her son and husband or reading a good book with her 3 rescue dogs by her side.

Jon A. Riesenbeck grew up in California’s Stanislaus County. He is marriedand has two young children with a third on the way. He received a Bachelorof Arts in History and a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Civilization from theUniversity of California, Los Angeles. While attending UCLA Jon joined theUnited States Marines Reserves. Immediately following graduation from lawschool at University of California at Los Angeles in 2004, Jon’s reserve Marineunit was activated, and Jon meritoriously served our country while stationedin Iraq. Thereafter, upon returning to the states in 2005, Jon was admittedto practice law in California, after which time he relocated his family to LakeCounty and joined the law firm of Crump, Bruchler and La ’s legal interest has always been primarily focused on family law. Sincehe began practice with Crump, Bruchler and La Velle, Jon has assisted manyclients.
