Andrew ("Andy") Oliver is a native of the State of Washington and the managing attorney for our firm's Seattle Office. He earned his law degree from the George Washington University School of Law in Washington, DC. He has been practicing immigration law in Seattle since 2007. Andy sincerely cares about his clients. He has a deep appreciation for languages and cultures. In his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington, Andy studied linguistics, Asian languages, and literature. He has studied Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, and Arabic. He loves to travel, and has spent time in India, Guatemala, and several countries in Europe. Andy lives with his wife, Alissa, and cats, Prem and Mouse, in Seattle.

Eliana Horn is an attorney, community organizer, researcher and advocate in the Seattle area. With a tenant organizing background, Eliana believes land and housing is a resource to be shared, not held for future profit. Eliana is working toward shifting the dynamics of ownership and control of land and housing to center low-income and Black, Indigenous and People of Color to ensure that land is affordable and accessible for hundreds of years to come.. Through Interdependent Law, Eliana provides legal services to forming or converting worker cooperatives, land-sharing projects including community land trusts, community real estate investment funds, and housing cooperatives. After graduating from City University of New York School of Law, Eliana worked as an immigration attorney between 2018 and 2021, representing detained and non-detained clients in removal proceedings, filing affirmative immigration applications, and suing the Government for the release of immigrants from detention. For the six years before she joined Jim’s firm, she was the office manager of a large insurance company’s in-house law department.

GregBoos is an attorney in the Bellingham office of Cascadia Cross-Border Law. In 2010 Chang & Boos dissolved and Cascadia Cross-Border Law was created. Mr.Boos limits his practice to matters relating to U.S. immigration lawwith an emphasis on business immigration. He received his Juris Doctordegree from the University of Idaho in 1977 and has practiced law formore than 25 years. Nicholas Berning has practiced immigration law since January 2007.  Nick has represented over 200 EB-5 immigrant investors and E-2 non-immigrant investors.  He also has extensive experience with other immigrant visas (family and employer sponsorships) and temporary work visas. Before co-founding Boundary Bay Law (phone:) in 2015, he served as the Practice Manager at T.D. Knowles & Associates, PLLC from 2008 to 2015.. From 2009 to 2015 Nick served on the Washington State Practice of Law Board, which is responsible for investigating the unlawful practice of law in Washington State. The Washington State Supreme Court appointed Nick to serve as the Practice of Law Board’s Chair in 2012 while the Board finalized the controversial Limited License Legal Technician Rule. The Court also appointed Nick to serve two terms as the Board’s Vice Chair.. Shortly after passing the bar exam, I petitioned for my wife, a citizen of Uganda, to come to the U.S. as a permanent resident. Steve lived along the U.S./Mexico border for two years where he became fluent in Spanish and was enveloped in the Hispanic culture. Jose is a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces. He proudly served with the Army’s 101st Airborne Division and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2005 to 2006. After leaving the military, he attended the University of Houston and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. He was a member of the prestigious Texas Legislative Internship Program during his time at the University of Houston.. Soon after graduating from U of H, Jose enrolled in the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. He obtained an associate editor position on the Thurgood Marshall Law Review and actively participated on the Moot Court team. He competed in numerous moot court competitions. As a member of the Earl Carl Institute, he wrote, researched, and edited portions of Our Story, a publication devoted to telling the rich history of Texas Southern University. Jose ultimately graduated summa cum laude and in the top 10 % of his graduating class.. On his free time, Jose enjoys running, reading, and volunteering.
