Jose Barajas was born and raised in Austin, Texas. He graduated from W. Charles Akins High School in 2006. He attended college at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, graduating in 2010. After college, Mr. Barajas entered law school and obtained his Juris Doctor degree in May 2013. He was admitted to the Texas Bar in November 2013.. Melanie M. Lira is the founder of the Lira Cazares Immigration Law. She is a native of San Antonio, Texas, where she received her Juris Doctorate from St. Mary’s School of Law. She has been honored for her commitment to human rights and social justice and received the Alice Wright Franzke Feminist Award and the Justice Alma Lopez Women in Law Leadership Award. Further, she received recognition from the Texas Access to Justice Foundation for her pro bono service.. Before beginning her own firm, Melanie worked at a local law firm practicing removal defense.
