I’d like to tell you a story about why I help people who have claims against insurance companies.  Its 1991 and I’m a law student living out-of-state when my mom calls to tell me she’s been burglarized.  She is scared and upset.  Fortunately nothing sentimental is stolen.  I naively tell mom that her homeowners insurance will compensate her for the things that were taken.. It turns out that the claim process is more upsetting for mom than the break in.  They make her jump through all kinds of unnecessary hoops and try to low ball her on the value of the claim.  The insurance company, who she has been with for over 20 years, treats her like she did something wrong.. I do everything I can to help, but at this time I don’t really know how insurance companies work and what can be done to make them to treat mom fairly. We feel helpless at the company’s “take it or leave it” attitude.. Over the past 20 years, I have learned how to level the playing field for people like my mom.  In the courthouse, insurance companies have to answer to a jury, not shareholders.  While most cases do not go to trial, you need the leverage of a trial to make them treat you fairly.. If you have been injured through no fault of your own and are facing an insurance company alone, please give me a call. I’d be glad to help.

Jim Holland is a lifelong Washingtonian and has walked in his clients shoes when his own insurance company tried to deny him life-saving medical care.  He studied at University of Washington and at Oxford University.  After graduating near the top of his class in law school Mr. Holland spent several years at the prestigious law firm of Perkins Coie practicing products liability and aviation accident defense litigation.  He left the defense practice for the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office where he tried more than thirty cases to local juries.  After sharpening his trial skills as a prosecutor Mr. Holland returned to civil litigation, where he works for injured peope and families and has obtained substantial verdicts and awards, including a $5,000,000 settlement for a male nurse paralyzed from medical malpractice, a $3,500,000 settlement for an elderly woman paralyzed from medical malpractice, a $2,400,000 award for his client in a real estate partnership dispute, a $10,000,000 judgment for wrongful death, a $2,000,000 settlement against the Kent School District for injury to a student-athlete during a sports practice, a $1,300,000 settlement for over-service of alcohol leading to a catastrophic drunk-driving injury, a $1,000,000 settlement for chiropractic negligence, a more than $2,600,000 settlement against a drunk driver, a confidential settlement against a medical facility for improperly intubating a patient leading to death, and a confidential settlement against a medical facility for failure to timely diagnose a heart attack leading to premature and preventable death.. Mr. Holland currently focuses the majority of his practice on wrongful death and other personal injury actions, including products liability, medical negligence, car and truck wrecks, aviation crashes and insurance bad faith.   He has dedicated his practice to helping injured people fight large corporations and insurance companies to find truth and hold those responsible accountable; a fight he has personally experienced with his own insurance company.  Jim routinely writes and lectures to trial lawyers across the state.  He has been voted a Rising Star in Washington Law & Politics for many years and most recently voted by his peers as a Super Lawyer in Washington State.  He has also received the prestiguous Martindale-Hubbell rating of "AV-Preeminent" for demonstrating the highest standards in both legal acumen and legal ethics.  Jim has been nominated and received numerous other awards both in Washington and nationally.  He is dedicated to delivering unvarnished advice to help guide injured clients and their families through the difficult decisions surrounding presenting a well-founded insurance claim or filing a lawsuit against those whose carelessness resulted in preventable injury or death.. Jim is more than happy to speak with prospective clients for free to help advise them about their options with advice geared towards achieving their specific goals and taking into consideration their unique personal desires.  Part of his willingness to speak with clients, or offer second opinions, is the desire to help contribute to quality of the legal advice received by clients and discuss options that may not have been presented to them initially.

My entire career has been spent fighting for just compensation for people injuried on the job or on the road. I relish the opportunity to fight for my clients. With over a thousand cases resolved resulting in millions of dollars for my clients, I am the voice for my clients against the insurance companies.. My wife, Carrie, serves as the executive director for Rainbow Fleet, a non-profit in Oklahoma City. We are parents of two young boys, Noah and Ben. Our family's free time is spent with our large family and answering the endless questions of our young boys.  When not cheering for the Sooners and the Thunder, the boys escape to the golf course.

I hail from Webb City, a quaint town near Joplin, Missouri. My academic journey took me to the University of Arkansas where I completed my undergraduate studies before advancing to the University of Arkansas School of Law. After earning my degree, I relocated to Tulsa and started my law career in September 2010.. Initially, I joined a private law firm where my focus was on workers' compensation insurance defense. During this period, I honed my trial abilities, conducted hundreds of depositions, and became a proficient negotiator through extensive participation in mediations. In 2012, I transitioned to a role as in-house counsel for a prominent nationwide insurance company, where I defended general liability and workers' compensation cases.. Currently, my practice is dedicated to assisting individuals who have been injured—through no fault of their own—in obtaining the compensation they rightfully deserve.
