I graduated from a federally American-Bar Approved law school in 1992 in the top third of my class. I took the California Bar Exam, passed it, and became a licensed attorney in California the same year. I briefly practiced civil law for about one year before entering the field of workers’ compensation law in 1993. I represented medical providers to collect their liens against the big insurance companies who refused to pay them. By 1997, I changed my focus to represent workers who were injured on the job. Since then, I have it as my mission to solely and exclusively practice helping the injured worker fight the big insurance companies and have obtained my Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Laws in 2003. I also served as a pro tem workers’ compensation judge at various times so that I know how judges think when they deal with cases. I have even litigated several cases which resulted in published precedent decisions before the California Court of Appeal favorable to the injured worker. I am still helping injured workers to this day.

Christopher Trodden was admitted to the State Bar in 1993, after receiving his Juris Doctorate in May of 1993 from Southwestern University School of Law. Mr. Trodden has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Irvine, and a Minor degree in Management from University of California at Irvine. During law school, Mr. Trodden was a law clerk at the law firm of Roland & Pennington, assisting with workers’ compensation and personal injury cases. After being admitted to the State Bar, he became an associate attorney at Roland & Pennington, eventually becoming a partner in 2000, after settling the largest case in the firm’s history, causing the firm name to change to Roland, Pennington & Trodden. Mr. Trodden has practiced civil litigation in the Superior Courts and workers’ compensation claims before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. Mr. Trodden represents injured workers and their heirs, as well as some employers whom he defends against workers’ compensation claims. Mr. Trodden has prosecuted cases all the way from the Appeals Board to the Supreme Court of California. Mr. Trodden also represents disabled persons in Federal Social Security Disability claims, and represents employees in certain Fair Employment and Housing Act, or “FEHA” claims. Mr. Trodden is admitted to practice law before all state courts in California, as well as the United States District Court, Ninth Circuit. He is an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, California State Bar – Workers’ Compensation Section, and the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association.  He happily has enjoyed satisfied clients with big dollar settlements in all of Southern California, including Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County and San Bernardino County.

Mr. Pennington has practiced law continuously from 1980 to the present. He has jury trial and appellate experience in the civil field and extensive Workers’ Compensation experience. He is particularly adept at handling injury claims which involve both Worker’s Compensation and personal injury civil claims. These are cases where an on the job injury is caused by the negligence of some “third party” – for example a messenger making deliveries who is struck by a vehicle that ran a red light. In such cases, the injured messenger may bring a Work Comp claim against his employer and a civil claim against the driver who caused the accident. Mr. Pennington’s familiarity with both fields of law helps him maximize the client’s net recovery in these cases once liens, offsets and credits are taken into consideration..
