Will began his legal career gaining valuable trial experience. Out of law school, he clerked with the Honorable John C. Hayes, III at the South Carolina 16th Judicial Circuit and then was able to hone his trial skills prosecuting cases under the stewardship of Solicitor Donald V. Myers in South Carolina’s 11th Judicial Circuit. He successfully prosecuted cases involving violent offenses, DUI’s involving seriously bodily injury, and major drug crimes.. After the Solicitor’s office, Will went into private practice with Ralph S. Kennedy, Jr. and the Honorable Julius H. Baggett at the Kennedy Law Firm where he represented clients from all walks of life in both criminal and personal injury matters. Since going into private practice, Will has also been an active member of the South Carolina Young Lawyers Division, having served as a past circuit representative. As a circuit representative for the Young Lawyer’s Division he helped organize several programs and events for Young Lawyers and worked on various charity projects including Cocky’s Reading Express which is a program created to teach elementary school students in underserved public schools the importance of life-long reading. He is also a member of the South Carolina Association of Justice.

Eric is a founding member and partner at Cavanaugh & Thickens, LLC.  Prior to opening Cavanaugh & Thickens, LLC, Eric worked for over 5 years at a recognized defense firm where he focused his practice on personal injury and defending large trucking companies in cases involving serious injuries and death. In his 5 years of practice, Eric has handled over a hundred tractor trailer accident cases. He is now putting his experience and knowledge to use helping those injured in accidents.  During his time as a defense attorney, Eric also represented major retailers, medical providers, and insurance companies. Taylor is a trial lawyer. He’s also an attack helicopter pilot in the SC Army National Guard and served 14 years in the Marine Corps as a JAG and Civil Affairs Officer before that.. These roles might seem at odds with one another, but the maneuver mindset and principles instilled by each inform Taylor’s approach to every case.. Taylor and his wife, Jennifer, grew up in the CSRA. After graduating from The Citadel in 2007, Taylor commissioned in the United States Marine Corps and attended law school at Mercer University under the Marine Corps’ PLC-Law program.. Upon graduating and gaining admission to the South Carolina Bar in 2010, Taylor served four years as an active-duty Judge Advocate. In 2014, Taylor left active duty for the opportunity to serve as a Civil Affairs Team Leader in the Marine Corps Reserve and return home to Aiken, where he joined his father’s practice (Braithwaite Timmerman, LLC).. Taylor’s private practice began with a firm foundation in insurance defense, representing insurance carriers throughout South Carolina and the Augusta, Georgia Metro Area. However, Taylor quickly discovered a preference for seeking justice on behalf of injured claimants in personal injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice actions and ultimately decided to establish a firm to focus on these cases in 2021.. At the same time, Taylor accepted a unique opportunity to transition to the South Carolina Army National Guard and become an AH-64E Attack Helicopter Pilot – a role Taylor continues to fill as a reserve Guardsman today.

James Christopher Sproat (Jim) is an attorney with Smith, Born, Leventis, Taylor & Vega, LLC. Mr. Sproat received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of South Carolina in 2008 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2011. While at the University of Cincinnati, Mr. Sproat served as both the Student Bar Association President and the Managing Editor of the Immigration and Nationality Law Review. He was admitted to practice law in South Carolina in 2011, after working with both the US District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the South Carolina Court of Appeals during school..
