I have been working in law firms since 2005 and have worked in fields such as workers' compensation, family law, civil defense litigation, and personal injury. I majored in legal studies while also obtaining my paralegal certificate in undergrad which allowed me to start working in the legal field during college. Being a paralegal for many years gave me a solid foundation of how to work a case from start to finish and the ability to manage all aspects of a case. It also gave me perspective on how to anticipate the needs of an attorney handling a case and also how to manage and supervise other support staff.

Elizabeth A. This year i watched my son graduate high school and matriculate to the University of South Carolina. I watched my daughter graduate pre-school and start kindergarten. Ben has recovered millions of dollars for his clients over that period and has been significantly involved in notable and important cases. In 2012, he partnered with his friend and colleague, Grim Howland, to successful resolve a $4 million dollar medical malpractice claim on behalf of his disabled client.  That same year, he partnered on a ground breaking workers’ compensation civil penalties case with Jim Lindell, successfully arguing at the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit that the district court erred in granting summary judgment to the defendants and that Plaintiff could prove that the defendants intentionally obstructed her workers’ compensation benefits in violation of Minnesota law. See Nunn v. Noodles & Company, and Zurich American Ins. Co., 674 F.3d 910 (8th Cir. 2012). Soon after that decision, Ben and Jim were able to resolve that case for their client, earning her an extraordinary but confidential settlement.. Joe Osterbauer was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  He attended Benilde-St. Margaret’s High School, St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, and received his law degree in 1990 from the William Mitchell College of Law.  While going to law school, Mr. Osterbauer clerked at the Cody Law Firm in St. Paul.  Upon graduation, Mr. Osterbauer worked with the Taylor Law Firm in Minneapolis for a year and a half.  He then founded the Osterbauer Law Firm in the summer of 1992.  He is married to Michelle Osterbauer, who is also an attorney.  He has four children.  Mr. Osterbauer practices in the areas of workers’ compensation and personal injury.
