A native of the LaGrange, Illinois, Brad graduated from Lyons Township High School and then received his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of North Alabama where he double majored in Business Management and Political Science. While there he was elected and served as president of the Student Government Association during both his junior and senior years. He thereafter attended Cumberland School of Law at Samford University where he was awarded a Juris Doctorate degree. Prior to commencing legal practice, Brad served one-year clerkships each with the United States Trustee for the Northern District of Alabama, Billy J. Rivers, and United States District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama, E. B. Haltom, Jr. Brad is a principal of each of the Bond & Botes law offices which are located in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Brad is licensed to practice law in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Illinois. He is also admitted to practice before various United States District Courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. A member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys  since its inception, Brad has served as a member of its Board of Directors and as its first full time Executive Director.  He has lectured on various bankruptcy topics to local and national gatherings of bankruptcy attorneys, trustees and judges. Originally from Mobile, AL, Grafton has called Birmingham home since graduating from St. Paul’s Episcopal School in 2006. He attended undergrad at Birmingham-Southern College and then bartended at a local restaurant for a year before attending Cumberland School of Law. Although he considers Birmingham his home, he travels back to Mobile quite often to visit family.. Grafton’s interest in Consumer Bankruptcy Law began shortly after completing law school when he joined a national bankruptcy firm located in Chicago, IL, where he represented clients in both Alabama and Montana. Dealing with cases in two vastly different states allowed him to greatly expand his knowledge of Consumer Bankruptcy in order to better represent his clients. After leaving Chicago, Grafton moved back to Birmingham and joined Bond & Botes in July 2018.. My primary focus in practicing law has always been to encourage those that are burdened and stressed that there are good answers available to help them move ahead into a great new future. One of the most rewarding parts of my career with Bond & Botes is the fact that we have been able to help so many people get back to living within their means and get relief from the stress of facing creditors and collectors every day. It is rare that I leave the office without having heard the words from at least a few people throughout the day, “Thank you so much! I feel like I can not only breathe but I’ll finally be able to sleep tonight!”. I started practicing law in 1991 and joined Bond & Botes law firm in January 1992 as the first associate attorney. I became a shareholder in the Birmingham office in 1993 and am a shareholder in several other offices in Alabama and Mississippi. I was the past Chair of the Commercial and Bankruptcy Law Section of the Birmingham Bar Association and have served on the Ethics committee of the Birmingham Bar Association.. I am very involved in church and ministry including speaking at conferences and sharing God's word to lift up others and give them hope. I am a Grace Life Counselor and a Co-Host on the talk show of A Real View of the Grace Life. I am a contributing author in a devotional series called Bullseye among other devotional series. I have written dramatic and comedy skits and performed in local theatrical productions. I am currently serving on different ministry arts production teams in the Birmingham area.. I am currently married to a wonderful man and have an amazing son! We love Alabama Football (all college football) as both of them played football at The University of Alabama. I love decorating, consignment stores, hanging out with my friends and mostly being at home with my husband and family...and our pets!. My favorite restaurant is Real & Rosemary. The first location opened in Homewood, AL. Of course, I might have some bias as my son and his girlfriend co-own the restaurant. Also, being the huge coffee fanatic that I am, I am a gigantic fan of their coffee shop, Caveat Coffee also located in Homewood, AL. Can’t get enough of the amazing “clean” food at Real & Rosemary and Caveat is the only place I know of that offers coffee latte on tap!! Yum!!!
