I am a southern Arizona native and grew up on my dad's cattle ranch east of Nogales on the Arizona-Mexico border. After I finished college at the University of Arizona, I taught high school social studies in Tucson. After teaching for a few years, I decided to go to law school to focus on advocating for immigrant rights. Growing up on the border gave me unique insight on how immigration policy affects families and sparked the passion I need to fight for immigrants in court. I primarily focus on immigration removal defense cases and family-based immigration petitions. I also dedicate a significant portion of my practice to handling pro bono cases for the Children's Law Center.. I currently live in the Phoenix area with my wife and two children. On my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my family and serving in student and refugee ministries at my church.

Practice Areas: Criminal Defense
Madison Van Natter is an Associate Attorney at Doran Justice, PLLC. She was born in Lansing, Michigan, and later moved to Monticello, Minnesota, where she lived during elementary school and the early years of middle school. In 2012, Madison returned to Michigan, where she completed her high school education in Kalamazoo.. During high school, Madison discovered her passion for law through participation in mock trial. She was actively involved in her school’s Model United Nations organization and, in her senior year, began competing in high school mock trial competitions. She enjoyed working on cases and deepening her understanding of the law. Although she always intended to pursue a career in law, her experience in mock trial confirmed her desire to become a criminal defense attorney.. After high school, Madison was accepted into the James Madison Honors College at Michigan State University, a political science honors program. There, she earned a major in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy, along with a minor in German. Throughout her four years at MSU, Madison actively participated in mock trial competitions, winning more than ten individual awards for her performances as both a witness and an attorney.. Additionally, she founded the MSU Undergraduate Moot Court Association, where she competed and placed at the national tournament for two consecutive years. Madison credits much of her success to the mentors and coaches who dedicated their time to help her grow as both an individual and a future attorney.. After completing her undergraduate studies, Madison attended the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. During law school, she participated in nearly all internal competitions, placing in every single one. She also competed in law school mock trial, where she received personal awards for her performance as an attorney. Madison applied the speaking and advocacy skills she developed through mock trial to her coursework, ultimately earning the CALI award in her Litigation Experience class.. During law school, Madison participated in Arizona's Rule 39 program, which allows law students to represent real clients under the supervision of a licensed attorney. Under the guidance of Chris Doran and Tyler Schwenke, she had the opportunity to second chair DUI trials, conduct evidentiary hearings, and interview several police officers.. Madison also participated in Rule 39 through her law school clinic. In her third year, she joined the Public Defender Clinic, where she contributed to a DUI trial, interviewed clients, and helped negotiate favorable plea deals for several individuals. Madison loved making a difference in her clients' lives and supporting them during their times of need.. In her free time, Madison enjoys traveling, singing, and spending time with her friends, family, and her dog, Maxwell. She also loves getting to know and mentor the undergraduate students competing in Sun Devil Mock Trial. Madison values the opportunity to meet future lawyers and provide them with the same mentorship she received during her own competitive years. While some may argue that she spends too much time focused on law, Madison strongly disagrees. As one of her favorite mentors once said, “True success can only be accomplished by succeeding at something you are passionate about.” – CD. It is this passion that drives her to love her work and contributes to her success.

Born and raised in Arizona, I grew up loving the practice of law. There is something about the competitive nature of law that really excites me. And, criminal defense is always a challenge. Walking out of court with the client's appreciation for the hard work put into his case is the best feeling.. I have 3 children, one grandson. I have retired from officiating high school and youth football, basketball and baseball. My football and baseball ended after 15 years when the demands of my practice just took too much time. I went 29 years in football. But with three knee injuries in my last 5 years of officiating, I had to retire in 2019.. When not practicing law, I try to practice magic.... still not great at it, but trying. And, I have recently taken up billiards.. Getting older means taking those steps to remain physically and mentally healthy. I work out most days. I just recently competed a personal challenge of doing 100 burpees a day for 30 days. Never had done them in earnest before. They kicked my behind. But amazingly, I will never stop doing them. Wonderful exercise.. I am constantly reading to keep my mind engaged.. Since August of 2021, I have published a daily motivational email to a growing list of subscribers. It started as a way for me to stay positive during some tough times, but I realized others could use the same motivation.. I am competitive... doesn't matter the activity. I don't like to lose.. I work hard. When I finally get some downtime, it is to travel and spend quality time with family and friends. With my wife of 20 years, we have agreed that when we travel, our goal is to find a unique restaurant in a new city to give a try. Not really a foodie, but whether it is a revolving restaurant at the top of building, or a restaurant in a cave, we just wanted to try something unique.

Firm: The Law Office of Michael Alarid III PLLC
20 E Thomas , Phoenix , Arizona 85012
Practice Areas: Criminal Defense
Michael Alarid, III is a preeminent criminal defense attorney in the State of Arizona. His passion for criminal defense started when he was a young child listening to his father's stories about representing his criminal clients in New Mexico. After graduating the University of New Mexico, Mr. Alarid moved to Arizona to attend law school at Arizona State University. While in law school Mr. Alarid won his first felony jury trial in the public defender clinic where he appeared in court as a Rule 38 certified student attorney. At law school graduation, Mr. Alarid received the award for Distinguished Achievement in the Art and Science of Advocacy from The International Academy of Trial Lawyers.. After graduating from law school at ASU, Mr. Alarid went to work for one of the most distinguished boutique criminal defense firms in Arizona. During that time Mr. Alarid cut his teeth handling complex high-profile cases, including arguing before the Arizona Supreme Court twice within the first five years of his career—an opportunity most lawyers never experience in an entire career. He has handled every type of misdemeanor and felony criminal case including traffic offenses, DUI, theft, assault, domestic violence, drug cases, gun cases, vehicular crimes, sex crimes, white collar crimes, and homicides. Mr. Alarid has practiced in courts all across the state of Arizona including city courts, county courts, superior courts, the lower court of appeals, the Arizona Court of Appeals, the Arizona Supreme Court, and U.S. District Court of Arizona.. Mr. Alarid is Board Certified in DUI Defense Law by the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD), the only DUI board certification recognized by the American Bar Association.
