My primary practice areas have always included business and real estate matters, probate and estate and incapacity planning (including trust and estate litigation), and ethics and professional responsibility aka the law of lawyering. I graduated from Beloit College and from the U of A College of Law.. Presently, I'm delighted to be practicing with Leigh Bernstein - a terrific elder law lawyer - and Matthew Scarber, our very talented associate attorney.* Leigh and I are very blessed in so many ways! Mitch is a State Bar Certified Family Law Specialist. Over the course of his thirty years practicing family law, the majority of his work has been in high conflict, complex domestic relations cases. Included in his area of expertise is presenting claims in determination or modification of spousal maintenance especially when the spouses do not have earning potential parity. In addition, Mitch has negotiated and drafted both pre and post marital agreements and has assisted clients in the enforcement of premarital agreements during divorce proceedings. He has represented parents when determining rights of decision-making, custody, and parenting time in cases involving complexities resulting from infidelity, substance abuse, sexual addiction, special needs and challenged children.. I was born in Detroit, and raised in southeastern Michigan and northwestern Ohio, before moving to the desert southwest after graduation from college. I traded winter gray skies, cold and snow for sunshine warmth and annual withering summer heat. I have lived in Arizona since 1976, and graduated law school in 1983.. I am single, with three handsome & intelligent adult sons, and an eight-year old grandson, who keeps me busy trying to keep up with him. I enjoy an active lifestyle, including: trave to new and interesting places; white-water rafting, camping and stream fishing for trout; playing and watching sports; reading and talking with people, as I always want to better know and understand our world around us.
