Raised by my father, a small business owner, I have always been passionate about finding real world solutions to complex legal issues. I believe law firms should be as lean and creative as the businesses they represent, providing quality legal services in an efficient and responsive manner. After years of practicing law for large national and multinational firms, I co-founded SK&S Law Group LLP in 2019 as a way to offer my clients the benefits of a large firm without the associated bureaucracy and overhead.. I specialize in employer-sided employment law, healthcare law, regulatory advisement, and all related matters. In addition to my business law experience, I have a strong background in litigation which I use to inform my employment law and healthcare law practices. My employment law expertise includes ADAA compliance, harassment and disability claims, Older Worker’s Benefit Protection Act claims, Equal Pay Act claims, hiring and termination processes, severance negotiations, employee handbooks, and independent contractor matters. I frequently educate human resource professionals and teams in internal investigations and general best practices for companies.. Prior to law school, I worked in IT technical support. While in law school, I interned at the United Nations (UN) International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, Netherlands. I obtained both my undergraduate and graduate degrees early (undergrad in 3 years and law school in 2.5 years) and at the top of the class.. I have passed the uniform bar exam and am currently admitted to practice in Colorado. I have been intimately involved in the corporate organization of the nationally recognized Colorado Pledge to Diversity Program, which places dozens of diverse first-year law students with top tier legal employers for paid internships each summer. I am also an active member of the University of Colorado Medical School Admissions Committee, a member of the Denver Bar Association Nominating Committee, and a member of the Denver and Colorado Bar Associations and I have served on the Colorado Bar Association Board of Governors and the Denver Bar Association Board of Trustees. I am regularly published on business, healthcare, and employment matters in Colorado Law Week and The Docket.
