Patterson Weaver was born in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Upon graduating high school, he attended Penn State University, where he majored in Political Science with minors in both Religious Studies as well as Economics. During this time period, Patterson's interests were in off-roading (and anything outdoors) as well as doing youth ministry with Young Life, an organization dedicated to Christian outreach to teenagers. After graduation, Patterson attended Duquesne University, where he studied for his Masters of Science in Secondary Education (M.S.Ed.) and was named a Dean's Teaching Fellow. Out of a love for the mountains and the outdoors, Patterson then moved to Colorado and taught High School Social Studies in Westcliffe, Colorado, for three years. The school’s chapter of the National Honors Society honored him as the Teacher of the Year in just his second year.. While Patterson loved teaching high school students, needing a new challenge, he applied to and was accepted into the Law program at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Patterson excelled in law school, both academically and in extracurricular activities. Patterson graduated in the top 20% of his class, while participating heavily in Mock Trial and Moot Court activities of all varieties. Patterson competed and placed highly in a number of intra-school Mock Trial and Moot Court competitions, including winning the Hoffman Cup Mock Trial Competition, DU Law’s most competitive and prestigious trial competition. Patterson also placed second in the ABA Negotiations competition, and very highly in a number of additional trial, motions, and appellate competitions.. Due to his extraordinary success in intra-school competitions, Patterson was selected for the ABA, AAJ, and NACDL traveling trial teams, on which he performed with distinction against some of the most talented young trial-oriented law students in the country. Additionally, Patterson was selected for the DU Law ABA Regional and National Negotiations Teams. Patterson and his negotiations partner finished first in the West Coast Regional Competition as well as ninth nationally. Perhaps the greatest honor Patterson received in law school was when his peers, the law school student body, selected Patterson as the school's Most Outstanding Barrister for 2008-2009.. However, Patterson’s success in law school was not limited to competitions. While in his second year at DU Law, Patterson was recognized by the Criminal Law Clinic with the Outstanding Student Award for his tireless and successful efforts in defending indigent clients in low-level criminal cases. Patterson was also awarded two Scholastic Excellence Awards, one for obtaining the highest grade in Torts and another for obtaining the highest grade in Trial Practice. In his third year of law school, Patterson worked as a Trial Intern for the 1st Judicial District Attorney's Office, where he prosecuted traffic and misdemeanor cases and tried 18 cases, obtaining a trial record of 15-3.. During law school, Patterson met his beautiful wife Michelle, a teacher and resident of Colorado Springs. After graduation, Patterson moved to Colorado Springs and obtained a position as a County Court Deputy District Attorney with the 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office, where he prosecuted misdemeanor and traffic cases of all varieties. Patterson quickly rose to the position of a Felony Prosecutor, and handled a large variety of felony cases with great success. While with the 4th District DA's Office, Patterson was awarded the Complex Prosecution Award by the Pikes Peak Region DUI Taskforce for his work preparing for and trying a Shreck hearing on the admissibility of Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) testimony in DUI trials. Patterson won the hearing, which resulted in a thorough model transcript and court order on the admissibility of DRE testimony still provided to young county court prosecutors statewide by the Colorado District Attorney’s Counsel.. In 2011, Patterson took his experience as a felony prosecutor into private practice, working as a Criminal Defense Attorney for a fairly large local firm, where he represented clients in cases ranging from high level felonies to municipal court speeding tickets to pursuing and defending against protection orders.. Patterson left the firm in late 2012 to open his own law practice, Patterson Weaver Law, LLC, where he can better limit his caseload to address the individiual needs and situations of each infividual client. Patterson currently enjoys representing clients in criminal and dui defense, personal injury, and probate administration/litigation.. Patterson is dedicated to tailoring his representation to the needs of each individual client, and would look forward to the opportunity to speak with you about your own legal issues. If Patterson Weaver is unable to help you with your particular issue, he will help you find someone that can.

I am a criminal defense attorney in Boulder, Colorado. My law firm, Rosmarin Law, handles traffic (including alcohol and drug-related charges), misdemeanor, and felony matters in the municipal, state, and federal court systems.. I decided to become a criminal defense lawyer when I was eight years old, when the State of California strapped my cousin Foster to a chair and made him breathe poison gas. Foster was insane when he shot his wife, and had no champion to defend him. I saw then that the world could use more champions.. It’s been a long strange trip to the courthouse. Before becoming a criminal defense lawyer, I was a journalist, working for Scripps-Howard, Times-Mirror, and the Associated Press. I also took a master’s degree in psychology, and for several years worked as an emergency psychiatric service therapist.. I am a member of the Colorado, Boulder, and Denver bar associations.. You can find anything else you could ever possibly want to know about me by searching the Web for my blog, Drunk & Disorderly. You'd best sit down with a good stiff drink first.
