I started my career as a deputy district attorney in the 18th judicial district (Arapahoe County and Douglas County).  During my time with that office, I litigated hundreds if not thousands of misdemeanor and felony cases.  I learned under some of the best prosecutors in Colorado and obtained a wealth of experience in trying cases of all types to a jury.. After gaining significant experience as a district attorney, I decided to take the next step by moving into private practice where I accepted a position at one of the top tax litigation firms in the nation.  For a little over one year, I worked on: sensitive audits of individual taxpayers and businesses, appeals to the Internal Revenue Service, cases before the United States Tax Court, voluntary disclosures, and criminal tax cases.. Next, I accepted a position with one of the premiere criminal defense firms in Colorado.  During my five years with that firm I gained invaluable experience defending clients who were charged with anything from driving under the influence to first degree homicide.  I had the privilege of working with some of the best trial attorneys in the nation while serving clients in a wide variety of criminal cases.. The final step in my journey led me to forming The Blair Law Office, LLC, where I am the President and sole owner. Growing up watching my mother and father run a small business, I always knew that owning and running my own firm would be the best fit for the next generation of my family. I have always focused my law career on exclusively Criminal Law. For many years -during and after college - I worked as a paralegal for Legal Aid (poverty law firms) in Oregon, all over Massachusetts and Illinois as both a college student and later as a VISTA volunteer between college and law school.. In law school I interned at the Federal Prosecutor's office in Eugene, Oregon - and later as a third year DA at the Lane County District Attorney's office. Later - after law school - I worked  as a law clerk directly for a famous criminal law judge in Denver Colorado followed closely thereafter by a lengthy and well known career as a Senior Career District Attorney for the Arapahoe, Douglas, Lincoln and Elbert County District Attorney (the Colorado 18th Judicial District) for almost 13 years.. In 1999 - I opened my Denver Tech Center law firm and have successfully defended thousands of clients over the past 16 plus years. I use all of that experience every day of my life to benefit my clients both tactically and strategically in defending their cases.. During the last 35 years - I have gained a tremendous amount of courtroom and real life experience in the before juries, and tough judges ... not behind a desk. As part of his duties, he was legal advisor to the Office of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
