MaryBeth V. Gibson was born in New York and grew up in Atlanta.  She graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia, with a B.S. in Biochemistry, and was a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta, the National Health Preprofessional Honor Society dedicated to the encouragement and recognition of excellence in preprofessional health scholarship. She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she was an active member of the Environmental Law Association.
