I am a native of Lafayette, Louisiana and proud to be of Cajun descent. Born in Lafayette in 1964, I grew up in the Acadiana area, where I have chosen to raise my family. I am a 1982 graduate of Acadiana High School. For college, I first attended Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana, and earned my undergraduate degree in Business Administration in 1986, from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. After graduation, I went into private business until 1992, at which time I entered Law School at Southern University. I graduated from Southern University School of Law in 1995, Magna Cum Laude, and as Associate Editor of the Law Review during my Senior Year.. In 1996, I became a founding partner of Galloway Jefcoat, L.L.P. which strives to meet the needs of injured persons throughout Louisiana. I am married to the former June Odom, a local small business owner, and we have two amazing children, Johnae and Jacob. My daughter Johnae is following in my footsteps and currently seeking her law degree from Southern University.
