My original firm was named named Lowry & Platt, the firm was founded in 1971, I have continually specialzed in representing injured people  in Maine since 1983.. I am a former prosecutor and criminal defense lawyer. There are two values of practicing law that I have come to appreciate most: overcoming legal challenges and helping people. Over the course of my career in criminal law, I have effectively defended clients against violations of their constitutional rights, wrongful charges, and unjust punishments--in cases ranging from Murder to OUI. I have also counseled and advocated for clients in contentious family matters as well as a variety of other civil and probate cases. In doing so, my diligence, creativity, and skill have allowed me to surmount legal difficulties and achieve justice for my clients.. I was born and raised in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. I attended the University of Vermont and earned a degree in English in 2006. I returned to Maine to attend the University of Maine School of Law. During that time, I published an article in the Maine Law Review and served as the journal's Executive Editor; I also gained real world experience at the Volunteer Lawyers Project and Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic. In 2010, I graduated from law school cum laude and was presented with the Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award for Business and Commercial Law. After law school, I worked for five years as an associate attorney at a local law firm, where I gained an extraordinary amount of valuable experience in all aspects of criminal and civil litigation. In 2016, I began my own firm, the Law Offices of Dylan Boyd, in Portland, Maine.. I am licensed to practice in Maine courts as well as the United States District Court for the District of Maine and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.  I am a member of the American Bar Association, Maine State Bar Association, and Maine Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Doug, a native of Illinois, has practiced law in Maine since 1983. He received his B.A. from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, in 1978. Between college and law school, he worked in the United States Senate in Washington, D.C. for U.S. Senator Adlai E. Stevenson III of Illinois. In 1983, Doug graduated cum laude from Suffolk University Law School where he was a member of the Law Review. He then returned to Maine, and from 1983 to 1985, practiced in Bangor with now Supreme Judicial Court Justice Warren M. Silver. In 1985, he moved to Portland where he was a partner at the law firm of Bornstein and Hovermale.. Donald has practiced law in Maine for 24 years. Don majored in Philosophy and English in collegeand graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston College in 1982.
