My legal practice focuses primarily in the area of labor and employment matters. While most of my clients are based inteh greater Baltimore area, I have worked with labor clients that have a national presence.. Employment Claims Representation: I represent individuals in employment law related matters such as unpaid wages, FMLA violations, unlawful discrimination and retaliation, wrongful discharge and unemployment.. Labor Union Representation: I have worked with both private and public sector unions. In particular I have assisted with unon negotiation, grievance handling and arbitration, and internal union governance.. Alternative Dispute Resolution: I have an interest in alternative dispute resolution. I have worked with Federal Mediators during labor negotiations as union-side counsel, attended mediation at the EEOC and MCHR to assist and counsel clients during the process, and I have served as a volunteer mediator for the Community Mediation program. In addition, I am the chair of the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Dispute Resolution Committee for the 2011-2012 bar year.

Welch, then the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. Thereafter, she practiced law in Baltimore, focusing on the areas of civil defense and insurance coverage.. She also developed a love of travel, accompanying students from all over the world as they traveled through Prague, Vienna, and Budapest, visiting governmental and cultural sites in preparation for a Model United Nations summit. Jennifer was also a participant in the Fulbright-Hays Seminar Abroad Bilateral Project in Morocco and Mali, a short-term study and travel seminar for U.S. educators in social sciences and humanities, which culminated in the development of a curriculum project that addressed the cultural dimensions of certain women’s issues, such as divorce, in those countries.. Jennifer lives in the Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore City, where she enjoys the holiday lights on 34th Street and the various neighborhood community festivals on the Avenue. She also serves on The Bryn Mawr School Alumnae Board and the Audubon Maryland-DC Board, which works to support environmental education programs in Patterson Park for school children in Baltimore City as well as efforts to conserve important bird areas, such as salt marshes, in Maryland and Washington, DC.
