About Jennifer Sullam
Jennifer Sullam joined Brown, Goldstein & Levy in October 2015. Her practice focuses on family law.. Prior to joining the firm, Jennifer clerked for the Honorable Martin P. Welch, then the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. Thereafter, she practiced law in Baltimore, focusing on the areas of civil defense and insurance coverage.. During law school, Jennifer worked as a law clerk for the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana, and she was a student attorney at the Tulane Civil Litigation Clinic, where she worked on housing and employment discrimination cases. Jennifer also served as the Senior Articles Editor of the Tulane Journal of Law and Sexuality, and she interned in the Family Law Unit of The Pro Bono Project, where she drafted and filed petitions and divorce documents for indigent clients.. Prior to entering law school, Jennifer taught high school history and coached field hockey. While teaching, Jennifer gained valuable experience advocating for the needs of her teen-aged students and facilitating communication among their parents, their teachers, and themselves. She also developed a love of travel, accompanying students from all over the world as they traveled through Prague, Vienna, and Budapest, visiting governmental and cultural sites in preparation for a Model United Nations summit. Jennifer was also a participant in the Fulbright-Hays Seminar Abroad Bilateral Project in Morocco and Mali, a short-term study and travel seminar for U.S. educators in social sciences and humanities, which culminated in the development of a curriculum project that addressed the cultural dimensions of certain women’s issues, such as divorce, in those countries.. Jennifer lives in the Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore City, where she enjoys the holiday lights on 34th Street and the various neighborhood community festivals on the Avenue. She also serves on The Bryn Mawr School Alumnae Board and the Audubon Maryland-DC Board, which works to support environmental education programs in Patterson Park for school children in Baltimore City as well as efforts to conserve important bird areas, such as salt marshes, in Maryland and Washington, DC.
