I bring a unique background to family law in that I began my training as a child and family advocate when I obtained my master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. Throughout the social work program and thereafter I counseled children and their families using my training in “love and logic” and other solution-focused techniques in dealing with family issues, i.e. divorce, substance abuse, delinquency. I elected to move forward to obtain my law degree from Cleveland Marshall College of Law in order to use my skill as a social worker to become an effective advocate for people undergoing a divorce, children and their families.I have experience working in Washtenaw, Livingston, Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb Counties. I have been trained to litigate volatile divorce actions, but have found that mediation is the appropriate forum for resolving family issues. I continue to believe that mediation allows for individuals to come to a resolution that is best suited for their unique personal and familial goals.
