Amy Stikovich

Firm: Nelson Forster & Stikovich, PC
413 Waukazoo Avenue , Petoskey , Michigan 49770
Practice Areas: Real Estate, Employment, General Practice, Family, Contracts, Mediation
Amy graduated from John Marshall Law School in 1996. After graduation she worked for several law firms in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, where she gained experience in the areas of employment law, insurance defense, contested guardianship and probate, and other litigation matters. She tried several cases to jury verdict. In addition, she served as an arbitrator for the Cook County Mandatory Arbitration system. She successfully defended clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Illinois Department of Human Rights, the Illinois Department of Employment Security, and the Illinois Department of Labor.. In the fall of 2006 she opened her own firm – Stikovich Legal Counsel. Her goal is to provide excellent representation to individuals, small businesses, small medical practices, and churches/religious institutions. She develops long-lasting relationships with  clients, and she has had many of the same business clients for over 15 years. She relocated to Petoskey in the fall of 2016.  In addition to representing employers and employees in various diputes, she offers Human Resources consulting - including evaluating current practices/procedures, drafting policies, handling employee issues, etc.  She is continuing to develop relationships with local realtors and title companies, and she can assist with a basic transaction or help you figure out how to clean up title.  She drafts all necessary documents (deed, purchase contracts, land contracts, etc.) In April of 2020, Amy joined with a few colleagues to form Nelson Deegan Forster & Stikovich, PC. in Petoskey, Michigan.. Something new in Michigan is "Limited Scope Representation."  What that means is that Amy can represent clients with just a small part of their case.  For example, if a client cannot afford to hire an attorney for the full case, Amy can draft pleadings or just handle a few court appearances.  This can be done on a flat fee basis, as well.. Amy volunteers with Northern Community Mediation in Petoskey and Charlevoix, and this year Amy was named Veteran Mediator of the Year. She is currently working on earning her certificate in Estate Planning through the Institute of Continuing Legal Education.  She volunteers at her church and her daughters' school, and she is on the board of Concord Academy of Petoskey.

Kenneth Silver

Firm: Hertz Schram, P.C.
1760 S Telegraph Rd Ste 300 , Bloomfield Hills , Michigan 48302
Practice Areas: Corporate , Mediation, Probate , Real Estate , Trusts
I am the son of a probate judge and have been practicing in this area my entire career.  I listen to my clients and I'm not afraid of trials.  Whether dealing with a step parent or an estranged sibling, the issues involved in trust and estate litigation are often about the emotional difficulties of dealing with family (and sometimes strangers) as well as the economics.  I have written on these topics and litigated these issues for decades. As a partner in a 30 lawyer firm, I also have the back up resources to address a myriad of related problems including, taxes, real estate, corporate law and even family law or criminal matters.  I am comfortable dealing with both sophisticated and highly technical probate or tax issues as well as the simplest and most straightforward lower value cases.

Lisa Taylor

Firm: Taylor-Made Solutions, PLLC
30200 Telegraph Road , Bingham Farms , Michigan 48025
Practice Areas: Divorce & Separation, Family, Child Custody, Mediation
My goal is to help couples have a peaceful divorce. Families should not be in court fighting against one another, particularly when there are children involved. Most divorces, 95% or more, do not go to trial; they settle. But, they usually do not settle until the attorneys have battled for months, belittling the other spouse in an attempt to "win" for their client. My philosophy is that couples should start out in settlement discussions, keeping things civil between them and making decisions for themselves as to what is best for their children and how to fairly divide their property and debt. I am proud to say that I have been very successful in helping couples do just that.

Daniel Stauffer

Firm: Alternative Resolutions & Law, PLLC
Executive East., Suite 140 , Grand Rapids , Michigan 49506
Practice Areas: Mediation
Hello and thank you for checking out my profile.. My name is Dan Stauffer.  I am the owner of Alternative Resolutions & Law, PLLC, one of the very few firms dedicated to helping couples, private individuals and legal entities (companies) resolve their divorce or other conflict.  That conflict may be very legal in nature (that is already deeply involved in litigation), just getting started, or at any point in between.. I believe the vast majority of people deserve the opportunity to create an agreement that is in their interests (beneficial to their families), in a timely manner, and at a reasonable cost (parties share the mediator’s fee). Studies show mediation is successful in more than 80% of cases.  So, reach out to me and let’s get started on letting you get on with your life.. Most people do not realize they have the power to resolve most of their non-criminal disputes without litigation and with or without attorneys.  Please reach out to me for a more complete picture of how this works.  By the way, an agreement reached in mediation is a legally binding contract which is enforceable in a Michigan Court of Law.. My approach to helping resolve your conflict may involve mediation.  I may also help by acting as your negotiator (a subject I have been teaching to law students for many years).  In your Divorce, I may also represent you as your Collaborative Divorce Attorney.. You see, you have several options for reaching resolution, and I am ready willing and able to assist you in doing so.. State Court Administrative Office approved MEDIATION TRAINING. GENERAL/CIVIL MEDIATION TRAINING. DOMESTIC RELATIONS MEDIATION TRAINING. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SCREENING TRAINING. ADULT GUARDIANSHIP MEDIATION TRAINING. CHILD PROTECTION MEDIATION TRAINING. Other Training in Relevant Areas. COLLABORATIVE DIVORCE ATTORNEY / MEDIATOR TRAINING APPROVED BY COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE INSTITUTE of MICHIGAN. RELEVANT EXPERIENCE. I am on the Court Approved Mediator List in every county from Lansing to the shores of Lake Michigan.. I mediate in the Mediation Centers in Grand Rapids, Holland, Lansing, and St. Joseph.. I regularly coach for SCAO approved mediator training courses. Memberships. I am admitted to practice law in the courts if the Great State of Michigan. Member of the State Bar of Michigan. Member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association. Eagle Scout. I was born and have lived in West Michigan for the majority of my life.  I am most proud of my three children and my grandchildren.  I thoroughly enjoy my work and balance it with my love of family, outdoors activities, reading, and gardening.
