He previously served on the Minnesota State Arts Board, the Moorhead Economic Development Authority, Moorhead Business Association, and chaired the President’s Regional Advisory Council at Minnesota State University Moorhead. He is the recipient of the Outstanding Young Alumni award from Minnesota State University Moorhead.. Corey grew up in the family business in the small town of Evansville, Minnesota, where his family owned the local six-lane bowling alley and dance hall. Corey and his wife Brenda have three sons, Christian, Jack and Blake. The Elmer family likes to travel and explore new places, especially long family road trips. They are close to completing their goal of visiting all 50 states, having driven over 34,000 miles through 47 states, four Canadian provinces, and a few other interesting places.
