“The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” – Steve Jobs. At Bertoldo, Baker, Carter & Smith, Paul R. M. Cullen often sees clients on their worst days. More than just knowing the law, he believes his job is to comfort, educate, and advocate for those who are unable to advocate for themselves. That’s when the real work begins.. Paul grew up in Montreal, Canada. After graduating high school in Montreal, Paul continued his schooling in the United States. He graduated from Lake Forest College in Illinois, earning a B.A. with a double major in business and international relations. Paul then attended Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco, California, where he met his wife Lindsay. After passing the California Bar, Paul and Lindsay moved to Nevada.. Following his admission to the Nevada Bar, Paul began his legal career representing individuals greatly impacted by the financial crisis. He assisted hundreds of clients struggling with debt, as well as those who were underwater on their homes. Paul knew early on that helping people and families was how he wanted to dedicate his law practice.. After several years of helping those suffering from the financial crisis, Paul transitioned to personal injury law, where he refocused his dedication and passion for helping others to assisting those who were harmed because of someone else’s negligence. He loves giving his clients a voice and fighting for their rights. In 2017, Paul joined Bertoldo, Baker, Carter & Smith.. To Paul, the best part of being a personal injury attorney is helping his clients recover from the injuries and losses they have suffered—and bringing a smile back to their faces.. In his spare time, Paul enjoys spending time with his wife, Lindsay, and daughter, Madison. He is also an avid hockey player, runner, and obstacle course racer.

He is a graduate of Bishop Gorman High School (1983), the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (1989) and the William S. Boyd School of Law (2003). Paul has a well rounded academic and professional background, which enhances his ability to analyze legal issues and represent his clients well.. Paul earned a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and a minor in chemistry while at UNLV. He began his professional career with the Clark County Health District (CCHD) in 1990. During his time there, he was instrumental in implementing the CCHD hazardous waste management program. In 1991, Mr. Adras left there to join the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP). He became the first environmental scientist hired by NDEP to regulate the management of hazardous waste in southern Nevada. Over the next several years, Paul managed a professional staff of the Division’s highly technical hazardous waste compliance and enforcement program in southern Nevada, and became the interim office manager of the Division’s Las Vegas Office in 2002, overseeing the bureaus of air quality management, waste management, water resources, corrective actions, and federal facilities. During his tenure with NDEP, Mr. Adras investigated a number of alleged environmental crimes, and even testified in court as a regulatory expert witness on behalf of the State of Nevada during the prosecution of an environmental crime.. In 2003, Paul graduated from the William S. Boyd School of Law, where he earned the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Service to the Law School Community. While in law school, Paul served as President of the Christian Legal Society, and as Secretary of the Environmental Law Society. Following law school, Paul ended his tenure with NDEP, and since that time he has engaged in the private practice of law, primarily in the areas of criminal defense, construction defect litigation, toxic mold litigation, personal injury, environmental law, and legal consultations. He has extensive experience in criminal defense and toxic mold litigation, and has lectured to home builders and government agencies on this subject. He has also made numerous presentations over the years to various groups regarding a broad range of environmental topics.. In 2006-2007, Mr. Adras served on the Nevada Test Site Community Advisory Board, which is comprised of volunteers who represent Nevada stakeholders by reviewing and commenting on environmental restoration (i.e. groundwater contamination, historic nuclear test area clean-up, etc.) and waste management (i.e. radioactive waste transportation and disposal) activities at the Nevada Test Site. He is a past Registered Hazardous Substances Professional (RHSP), a credential he held for well over a decade, through the National Environmental Health Association.. The practice of law, and particularly the practice of criminal and DUI defense law, is both a science and an art. Paul has tried a number of criminal jury trials and misdemeanor bench trials, and has conducted a number of felony preliminary hearings. He also has an extensive civil litigation background. Paul's hands-on and practical scientific background, combined with his everyday courtroom experience, enables him to provide high quality representation and achieve excellent results.. Paul has been a licensed foster parent, and is married with seven children, and his family has taken in a number of foster children over the years. Paul is admitted to practice in all of the State Courts of Nevada, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Nevada.
