During law school, Brett was President of the Student Bar Association and an active member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.  Brett externed at the American Civil Liberties Union, completed a clerkship at the Clark County Public Defender’s office, and represented juvenile delinquent clients in the law school’s Juvenile Justice Clinic.  Upon graduation, Brett received a Dean’s Award for her contributions to the law school.. Brett is admitted to the State Bar of Nevada, United States District Court for the District of Nevada, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  She has practiced law in the areas of negligence, medical malpractice, civil rights, and criminal defense.
