Ms. Peterson fka Ms. Marsh, began her legal career in Michigan after graduating cum laude from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2000. Ms. Peterson worked for the Plunkett & Cooney Law Firm from 2000 to 2001 and the Kitch, Drutchas, Wagner, Denardis and Valittuti Law Firm from 2001 to 2004. During her tenure at these firms, Ms. Peterson concentrated her practice in the areas of medical malpractice, governmental immunity, police liability, premises liability defense, regulatory compliance, insurance defense, and asbestos litigation.. Ms. Peterson left the Kitch firm in December 2004 and moved back to Northern Michigan where she went into solo practice and concentrated her practice in Family Law and Misdemeanor Criminal Law. Ms. Peterson remained in solo practice for approximately two years during which time she also served as Zoning Administrator for Banks Township.. Ms. Peterson moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in April of 2007, and was admitted to practice in December 2007. Ms. Peterson has been a part of the Civil Litigation Team since she began at the firm and continues to concentrate her practice in all areas of civil litigation including probate, contract and corporate law. Ms. Peterson also serves on the Governing Board for the Rape Crisis Center of Nevada.. Jessica is a born and raised Las Vegas native. She received both her Juris Doctorate and her Bachelor’s degree from UNLV. She graduated from the William S. Boyd School of Law with Pro Bono Honors in 2015. During her time at Boyd, Jessica participated in Boyd’s International Human Rights Practicum in India, where she interviewed factory workers subjected to human rights violations, and co-authored a UN report to the Special Rapporteur. Prior to her practicum in India, Jessica also studied law in Barcelona, Spain and Oxford, England. Jessica also competed in the International Criminal Moot Court Competition at Pace University Law School in 2014.. Before joining Sgro & Roger, Jessica worked at a boutique firm where she operated in a general counsel capacity representing clients and businesses in both litigation and transactional matters. She also managed and maintained the client’s intellectual property portfolios. At Sgro & Roger, Jessica builds upon her prior experience and has since expanded her practice in the areas of business litigation, real estate, and probate matters.. Jessica is still active in the community and still participates in La Voz as an attorney mentor. Jessica also currently serves as the Parliamentarian for the Asian American Pacific Islander Democratic Caucus (AAPIDC) and Vice Chairman of Bamboo Bridges, a nonprofit organization designed to assist domestic violence and human trafficking victims leave their abusers and navigate the social and legal systems for assistance. Outside of the office, Jessica likes to spend time with her dog and her family and traveling.
