Carol E. Crummey is a 2013 graduate of Albany Law School and a 2008 graduate of Boston College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English and Communications. Carol joined our firm upon graduation from Albany Law School, and has continued to work as a courtroom advocate working on cases from inception to trial. Carol is admitted to practice in the State of New York and in the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York.. Carol concentrates in the area of civil litigation including premises liability, construction accidents, products liability, motor vehicle negligence and medical malpractice. Throughout law school she was employed at a civil litigation firm and simultaneously by the Albany County District Attorney, gaining experience in both civil and criminal matters.. Carol is a member of the New York State and Albany County Bar Associations. While at Albany Law, Carol participated in multiple Moot Court Competitions, and she was the winner of Albany Law School Donna Jo Morse Client Counseling Competition.  Carol currently serves as the Mock Trial Attorney Coach for the Albany Academies. I used to work for a large social security disability law firm and realized it wasn’t for me.  I was frustrated at only talking to my clients at the initial meeting and having no contact with them until right before a hearing.  I like to interact with my clients and get to know them as individuals.  I feel that by communicating with my clients and understanding who they are I am better able to represent them.. I understand what you are going through having family and friends whom are disabled.  They have gone through the process of applying for social security disability benefits and I have been there to witness their daily activities and struggles.. I have been involved with the legal community as well.  I have been quoted by the Buffalo News, Buffalo Law Journal and the Christian Science Monitor. I have taught CLEs (education courses for other attorneys), been on legal discussion panels and have spoken to numerous community groups.  I testified before the New York Senate to help pass a law against predatory mortgages. I worked with the Attorney General’s office as well as Senator Schumer’s office, appearing at a press conference with Senator Schumer on Rent to Own predatory loans.  I wrote articles for the Erie County Bar and New York State Banking Department.. On a more personal level I reside in Amherst with my husband Steve and have two daughters. Also residing with my family are two spoiled chihuahuas, Meeka and Cookie.
