Rich began studying law in the evenings at New York Law School in 1998, while continuing to work full time as the firm's claims adjustor. Rich recently handled a case for a man who had previously lost both legs below the knees due to diabetes. He was then involved in a motor vehicle accident where he sustained fractures to both of his thighs, causing him to be wheelchair bound until the fractures healed. Rich was able to settle the case for the full $200,000 available policy limit within a remarkably short 30 days.. Rich is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, and a member of both the Essex and Morris County Bar Associations.
